If the NFL moved to 18 games, how would you like the extra two games to be determined?

So the current formula:

6 games against division

4 games against one division from your conference, rotating through every three years

4 games against one division from other conference, rotating through every four years

1 game against each of the other divisions in your conference, playing the team with the same placement as you last season.

So regardless of whether you want the season expanded or not, if they did add two games, how would you like to see them determined?

This is a little ridiculous but:

1 game vs team in similar spot as the previous spring's NFL Draft order to make the parody stronger (ie 32 Philly @ 31 New England, 30 Minnesota @ 29 Jacksonville..etc) so you're at least going to be guaranteed a Super Bowl rematch.   If someone's already facing that team in the other conference, you'd just need to make sure nobody gets two home or road games or you could just configure it so no team would play anybody in that other conference division they're already facing..

1 game vs another team in "Rivalry Week".  Matchups could be historic Super Bowl rivalries etc (ie. Dallas/Pitt,  Washington/Oakland,  GB/Denver)  There might be no special formula to this.  It's a little complex and you'd have to schedule those two games where every team gets one home/road game etc and obviously not every matchup will be entertaining.  You might just have to create fillers for the rest so everyone gets the same amount of road/home games

It'd be cool to see a few more inter conference games if we had 18

I’d like to see one game be done by playing an opponent from your parallel division in the other conference, based on placement last year.

So in the East, the Patriots would play the Eagles, the Bills would play the Cowboys, the Jets would play the Giants, and the Redskins would play the Dolphins. The Vikings would play the Steelers, the Rams the Chiefs, the Jaguars the Saints, etc...

I think the problem with rivalry week is if you have a rival like most teams do its probably in your division. I wouldnt want to face a team 3 times in the regular season

I like that idea and i do like the 32 plays 31 and so on and so forth. I like that idea. I'd be on board with adding these 2 although for records and player health i hope it never becomes 18 games, but it will

I was thinking the Rivalry week could all be interconference but you couldn't have all marquee matchups.  You're only going to have so many but for entertainment purposes, have the Dallas/Pitt,  GB/KC  whoever but the rest could be filler-type matchups that might be random..  Carolina/Houston,  Jets/Cardinals etc

I feel ya. I think the draft order thing sort of sets the marquee matchups to a point. Lets be honest though, they can spin a 2 QB turd of a matchup into the Ice Bowl part 2 with the right amount of time

Problem being that every three years you would play them anyway, I don't think you would want to play them twice in those years.

This is a no brainer.  You give them games against 2 divisions instead of 1 and take away the game against the opponent with the same placement as last season. So if a team was in the NFC east, here's what they'd play this year if they were playing an 18 game schedule

6 games against NFC East divisional rivals

4 games against NFC North

4 games against NFC South

4 games against AFC South

Really this is probably the easiest way to go about creating the 18 game schedule

Or a team plays the other top or bottom 2 teams from the other 2 divisions in their conference that they aren't playing each year to try to keep a competitive balance.

What about one cross conference rival for each team which they play once a year. Maybe georgaphical based for most (eg Giants vs Jets, Raiders and 49ers) but perhaps in some cases just biggest teams (Cowboys Pats or Steelers Packers)
