Because Cam couldn’t drop 20 on one of the best defenses of the last 15 years, that proves something. Well, until you realize Brady couldn’t in the AFC Championship game either. Cam pulled his weight despite inefficiency all around him; neither runner averaged above a 4 while Olsen was out for most of the year and Benjamin was traded halfway through. It’s why he also had to lead the team in rushing. And Cam (349 yards, 2 TDs, 105 QBR) > defense in our playoff game. Newton is the main reason we even had a chance. I don’t know why some people (not saying you) can’t just accept the fact that Newton is a legitimately good QB. He’s done a lot with little around him. He’s not as fast or elusive as Vick but no has been since Barry Sanders. Cams not actually a running QB. He’s Brett Favre with legs. That’s how he plays the game. As a Saints fan I can say with good certainty that Vick was a much bigger problem than Cam. Sure...Cam is money as a short yardage rusher, but other than that? Meh. Both weren’t good passers but at least could give you a herpes outbreak because if his rushing ability. Cam has been very fortunate to consistently be supported by a good defense.
