we can scumhunt in a package deal, so if we are sure one guy is mafia, we wont accidentally save him by saving his partner.

12:4 is technically the same ratio is 6:2.

however, if we have 8 discrete teams, it will be easier to pick out who the 2 mafia teams are

then i thought about it some more, and it came to me while i was in the shower that it would actually be beneficial.

So hold the phone guys. I had the best idea last night. We need four of us to edit our posts to get each of our groups killed off. 

The ratio would be 2-2 instantly and we would win.

if anything, edits should make it harder for that player to leave the game, not easier

1. Not sure if it effects the spirit of the game.  

2. Red team would be opposed to it bc it narrows the field down and puts them more in the lime light so to speak

@Dome before we do this, do you have any concerns with the spirit of your game. This was a big thing for me in my game, so I appreciate clarification before we do it.

Or maybe if they break a rule, they just die and their body will forever count towards the ratio...

It will be up to each player to decide whether or not they want to reveal their partner. It doesn’t violate the spirit of the game.
