flyguy1609
Chase Utley will hold a press conference Friday afternoon at Dodger Stadium to announce that he's retiring at the end of this season. The 39-year-old is under contract for 2019, but he's batting only .231/.313/.331 this season for the Dodgers and has seen his playing time dry up. Utley has had a marvelous career that's seen him bat .276/.358/.466 with 259 home runs and 1,025 RBI. He has made six All-Star teams and finished in the top-15 in National League MVP voting five times
playmaker8267
Great career. Thoughtful hitter, World Champion, engine of a National League power for a number of years. I saw Chase Utley start at first base in 2004 hitting behind Pat Burrell and Jim Thome against Pedro Martinez, and I saw him start at second base in 2018 hitting behind Justin Turner and Cody Bellinger against Jacob deGrom. He's lived a baseball odyssey matched by few.
mm6492
Great player who was truly the heart and soul (and best player) on those Phillies teams. Rollins and Howard may have won the MVP's, but Utley deserved at least one IMO. Favorite player growing up, will be cool to see him in Philly one last time.
