What teams this year do you think could match/come close to the criteria to last years teams?

This years Cowboys/Raiders (team that is a trendy Superbowl pick that will miss the playoffs):
This years Bucs (Team people love to make the playoffs but will disappoint):
This years Rams/Saints/Jags (Worst to first teams):
This years Eagles (Non playoff team that could surprise and win the SB):
This years Giants (Team that made the playoffs that will finish in the top 5 of the draft):
This years Browns (Team that has the best chance to go 0-16):
This years Packers/Seahawks (Perennial playoff team that could miss the playoffs this year):
This years Chargers (Team that starts slow but gets hot only to come up short):
This years Bills (Team that snaps a lengthy playoff drought):

People are thinking the Bears will be like last year’s Rams. I personally think in some ways yes but not completely.

they'll have a harder road for sure, and Nagy is perhaps less of a known quantity than McVay coming in.

But they both came from the most successful Offensive Scheme Trees in the league and a lot of other similarities.

Biggest thing is they have 3 legitimately good teams in front of them in that division that will make it tougher

If people think the Bears will be like last year's Rams, it's only because they've done almost everything in their power to emulate last year's Rams.

They hired a young promising offensive coordinator to be their head coach.   Sean McVay --> Matt Nagy

They have an older defensive coordinator who has been in charge of elite defenses in the past.  Wade Phillips --> Vic Fangio

They have a highly drafted quarterback (Jared Goff --> Mitchell Trubisky) who struggled as a rookie with sub par talent at wide receiver and a quality running back. Todd Gurley --> Jordan Howard

They went and broke the bank to improve the offensive talent signing a speedster playmaking wide receiver (Sammy Watkins --> Taylor Gabriel) and a physical possession receiver (Robert Woods --> Allen Robinson).  They also drafted a route running specialist to play the slot day two.   Cooper Kupp --> Anthony Miller.

They also surprised everyone by adding an offensive linemen people didn't think they would bring in.  Andrew Whitworth --> James Daniels

The Bears, more than anyone else, appear to be trying to emulate the way the Eagles are have done things.

Hired Andy Reid's mostly non-playcalling OC (Doug Pederson/Matt Nagy)
Sign a big bodied WR (Alshon Jeffery/Allen Robinson)
Added another complimentary WR in the same off-season (Torrey Smith/Taylor Gabriel)
Signed a more experienced veteran backup QB. (Nick Foles/Chase Daniel)
Added Eagles 2nd TE Trey Burton with the intent of likely using him in multiple TE sets.
Use a variety of RBs rather than relying on a single one.
Have a QB entering their second season after being draft very high with relatively mixed results.

Lol, this is a stretch.  Sure, they tried to get a young offensive mind like McVay, but as far as doing everything in their power to emulate the Rams, almost none of those line up.

- Vic Fangio has been the Bears DC since the Bears hired John Fox.  They just kept him around, because he's a fantastic DC.

- Mitch Trubisky didn't really struggle as much as he was held back from doing anything remotely risky, as well as having terrible playcalling.

- Jordan Howard has been around for 2 years, the fact that they have him already doesn't mean they are trying to emulate the rams.

- They upgraded their WR corps.  Yeah, so?  They were coming into the season with Kevin White (aka Elijah Prince), Josh Bellamy, and Tanner Gentry.  Of course they were going for WR's and targets for Mitchell, thats common sense, not emulation of the rams xD

-  James Daniels was a surprise only in the position he played, not that they drafted him.  It just meant that they are pushing Whitehair back to guard instead of drafting one, but everyone and their mother thought the bears were going to take an OL.  Also, thats a big stretch considering Whitworth is a 10+ year veteran and Daniels is a new 2nd round pick.

There are certainly comparisons to be made, but most are based on the HC they brought in and the fact that they have a 2nd year top 3 QB, and in my eyes thats where the comparisons stop.  Saying they are doing "everything in their power to emulate last year's Rams" is a real stretch based on what you presented.

This is a much more fair comparison than that of the Rams.  The Rams is the lazy comp just because of a young HC and 2nd year QB.   Eagles are much more accurate.
