Recap from Cohn:

Sherman doesn't look all the way right.

Witherspoon can't cover Goodwin at all and the coaches giving him so much praise today tells him something as it wouldn't be necessary if he was actually that good.

Garoppolo looked bad, and doesn't have Brady's professionalism. Him dating a porn star was another sign of that.

Solomon Thomas did not set the edge and looked bad to him.

Armstead had one batted ball and that's all he could do.

Pettis allowed Moore to rip the ball away from him and he doesn't see what other draft experts saw in him.

Warner didn't stand out to him either way.

He does like Richie James a lot though.

So yeah, that's pretty much what he said during that periscope session lol.

Always fun to see Cohn with the completely different takes to everyone else.

Man, I really despise the Cohn's.  turned it off after he went off on Pettis not looking the part physically. WTF does that even mean.

He said he would start with positive things but I didn't hear anything on anyone. Everytime he tried to say something good he would go on a tangent on what they did bad. I can't stand anything he reports awful all over.

With Cooper currently on PUP, Garnett is getting every chance to win. See how this plays out.

It's the fact that he feigns objectivity. WELL HE JUST LOOKS LIKE A PUNT RETURNER, YA KNOW?? JIMMY JUST ISN"T BRING THE SAME LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM? YA KNOW??

No, Grant. I don't know.

It's unnecessary. He would be very good if he doesn't go the extra mile to go against the grain. And then he tries to be smart having his favorites when it is obvious they just aren't what he thought they were. Like how is he still caping for Hoyer when he was utter garbage?

Anyways, are the pads coming on tomorrow or Saturday?

So back to Cohn, if anyone heard the periscope he was making it look like Witherspoon got beat all practice long and couldn't cover Goodwin at all. Then he writes this:

Quote

CB Ahkello Witherspoon. May have had a terrific practice – I wasn’t focused on him. The two times I noticed him, he got beat by Marquise Goodwin. The first time, Goodwin dropped the ball. The second time, Goodwin caught it. Teams will go after Witherspoon relentlessly next season – they won’t go after Sherman if he’s healthy. I’m interested to see how Witherspoon will respond.

Wait what? Now he may have had a terrific practice but he got beat by Goodwin twice and allowed one catch? So THAT is what caused him to say what he did?

Then this is from Eric Crocker:

Quote

-- Witherspoon, the team's second-year cornerback out of Colorado, was very impressive. He was the first player to hit the field and start warming up. He had a different swag to him than his peers.

-- His confidence carried over to team drills where the 6-foot-3 corner was fluid, aggressive and technically sound. Witherspoon nearly intercepted the first play from 7v7. Peeling off of his guy, he jumped an out route that was just out of his reach.

-- On one of the following plays in 7v7, his guy went away - and with his eyes, Witherspoon drove down on the crosser full speed forcing the throw elsewhere.

-- Shortly after that Witherspoon broke up what looked like a bang 8 (short post but deeper than a slant). That was a route the 49ers had trouble with in the 2017 season.

-- It wasn’t all roses for Witherspoon to start camp. He gave up a deep comeback to Marquise Goodwin. The coverage was there but Goodwin broke off his route about 20 yards downfield and Jimmy Garoppolo dropped in a nicely-timed pass.

-- Overall Witherspoon looks to be picking up from where he left off in 2017, and actually looked better than I expected. But it’s just one practice.

Like what the hell? These guys watched the same practice? I mean granted Cohn hedged and said he wasn't paying close attention to him, yet went on a rant from one allowed catch? L-O-L......

Crocker definitely calls out Cohn talking about Pettis not looking like a natural WR or being scared to go down the middle.
