Risk injury?  He’s already under contract.

Exactly.... he's underpaid so why should he risk injury that could prevent him from landing the deal he deserves? That's why player who outplay their contracts hold out.

Guys, he never even showed up to a meeting, how is he going to get hurt in a meeting?

He didn’t want to be a Raider get over.

You need to "get over" and stop drinking kool-aid. He wanted to be a Raider, he just wanted to be paid according to his talent.

Look at Earl Thomas. Held out all offseason and finally came back when he risked losing game checks. Where's he at now? Injured, 30 and a FA who will not command the same kind of money he could have gotten before injury.

Players want to get paid. Saying Mack "didn't want to be a Raider" makes you sound as clueless as the Raiders owner.

Holding out is not the norm majority of players keep on showing up and  their agents negotiate the contract.

Not the norm? Just this offseason.... Mack, Donald (2 in a row), Julio Jones, OBJ, Bell, Thomas, David Johnon, Lewan and Roquan Smith (on a rookie contract).

With exception of Bell and Thomas (who was paid previously).... all these players got the contract extensions they wanted.

So you are flat out wrong. GOOD players, don't keep showing up. Their agents don't want to risk injury in the offseason. Happens every year.

Out of hundreds who signed contracts

John Lynch claiming in an interview that he believes the 49ers made a better offer for Mack before he was dealt to Chicago.

Hindsight is obvi 20/20 after the Garrapolo injury but man would that've deadened the blow a little. Bear's pick is currently projected to be #26.

And the Jets said they never allowed them to make a better offer than the Bears.  Our FO completely screwed the Mack trade.

Hopefully next year the Bears follow in ours and Jax footsteps.
2 years ago, we were the hot new team then folded hard last year
Its happening to Jax now

With that division, I could see it happening to them next, ESPECIAlly if Mitch stumbles just a bit.
That D is loaded, and it would be crazy for them to fall apart, but just look at Jax this year

It would take 2 things to happen. Trubisky's wheels would have to fall all the way off and Fangio would have to leave for a HC job.

neither are unrealistic.
heres to hoping!

Ill be crushed if we are top 10 next year and they are 25+.. that mean Mack for a 25 pick, and a move up of 10 picks or so.
