At least enough leverage to drag this to court instead of writing him a $30M check. Good for OSU handling this investigation the way they have, by the way. This is how you handle this crap when it shows up. Urban was always a slimeball, but Gene Smith isn't honey dicking around here and is making sure there's real accountability. Better to lose for a year than be Baylor forever. Only issue could be the incident at hand Happened before the new contract. So this clause in the contract might not be enough tho. Last section says "it is recognized that this sub-section (5.1 A-P) encompasses findings or determinations of violations during employment of Coach at Ohio State or any other institution of higher learning". The "or any other institution" part means Urban signed this knowing that the past was not off limits. And I think the fact that they were separated and she was looking to obtain a restraining order means that this would fall under the Sexual Misconduct policy under stalking, which is specifically listed as a subcategory. I'm not a lawyer, but that seems like a serious uphill battle for Urban.

BobbyPhil1781
Urban's tweet made it seem like he was somewhat positive with this ordeal so who knows. He didn't seem to have a defeated demeanor

candyman93
I’m kinda serious- Urban will probably be coaching the Browns or some NFL team next year because of this. The NFL doesn’t give a shiz about PR.
MKnight82
I’m confused. This coach is obviously a POS, but charges were never filed against the guy. As soon as they were, Meyer fired him right? Where’s the scandal here?

Witch hunt, etc. Who are the sources? I heard Brett’s McMurphy’s source went to Michigan so he should probably stop reporting on it. 1) We don’t even know if it really happened. Sources? We’re just going off so called reporter Brett McMurphy who has such bad numbers that failing ESPN even fired him. Why didn’t the police make an arrest? 2) And even if it happened, Urban didn’t know. Who knows, the texts could be fake. Why should we believe unemployed Brett McMurphy? 3) And so what if Urban knew, it’s not like what he did was wrong. The fake news media and politically correct fans and irrational haters will keep saying he should get fired. There weren’t even charges pressed. Urban doesn’t have to fire him unless charges were filed. I thought it was innocent before guilty. Sad! 4) And so what if you say it’s a Title IX violation if Urban or his wife didn’t report it if they knew all along. Title IX is an abomination. Everyone knows that it was used to railroad Art Briles who is well respected and admired by everyone. It was a witch hunt then and it is a witch hunt now. WITCH HUNT BY THE FAKE NEWS. oh, ok. I just asked if he was fired
Supersuavesky
I wouldn't call this a scandal. And if they can't prove without a shadow of a doubt Meyer knew, and a few text messages to his wife aren't proof, than there isn't much they can realistically do.
