Those older players took the roster spots of all the terrible early draft picks from the 2015 to 17 draft. If we had drafted solid players in round 1-3, the vets wouldn't be here. Poor drafting is where the blame should be directed.

We just traded the best player we drafted so that blows the whole build through the draft mantra.

It's quite possible we wouldn't have traded him if we had drafted good after 2014. The surrounding players to build a defense around Mack would be on the roster already and on cheap rookie contracts. But they're not there. In order to bring them in you need draft picks or cap room. With a Mack extension you kiss goodbye to the cap room for the upcoming years so you're left with draft picks and basically a whole D to build. Through the draft, it would take 3 years of good drafting on D (and you can't draft D only) to surround Mack with a competent unit. At this point Mack is 30.

I stopped reading after this nonsense. The only reason that trading Mack would make any sense is if we had an above average defense and a ready made replacement. We don’t.

The hate for McCarron that’s probably coming from people who have never seen him play but follow Twitter opinions, is obsurd. Acting like we traded for a proven trash can like Osweiler. Was the price a little steep? Maybe. But it’s an important position, just ask the eagles.

A few weeks ago everybody wanted us to make a move for a backup,  now they do and everyone loves EJ and Cook. C’mon.

Cmon now. He was bills 3rd string qb. He was gonna be cut. All raiders had to do was wait 2 or 3 hours and signed him without giving up the pick. He is making moves to be competitive this year and making moves to rebuild. Trading a 3rd for bryant and a 5th for AJ doesnt match the mack trade imo. And giving away a 2nd in the process, just dont make sense.
