Bears played the long game on this one. Them being trash for years sealed the deal

Just wait until Gute enacts his master plan.

*Lets Bears beat the Packers so that the Bears have a winning season.  He knows they're not good enough to win a Super Bowl, he knows the Packers aren't quite set for the next ten years.  Tanks this this season while beating only the Vikings twice to appease Rodgers.  Bears give Raiders mid-twenties first round pick to get back at Reggie for not trading Mack to us while we end up with the 1st overall pick.  Saints stumble and get us a top 10 pick.  Most draft capital for the Packers literally ever.

*In free agency, tamper with Adrian Amos by saying "AA is a great player and we're going to win Super Bowls with him while winking at him."  Bears will tender him and we will sign him to an offer sheet that the Bears can match, but that will keep them from adding anybody else.  Bears are stuck with this team next year.  No help for them at all.

*Re-sign Matthews, Cobb, Wilkerson, Clinton-Dix.
*Sign two veteran backup OL even if you have to overpay a little bit, but nobody else.  Trust Gute because he's got this.

*Draft Bosa, then the best available safety in round one.
*Trade 2020 first round pick for a third first round pick and draft the best available pass rusher remaining.
*Draft the best, most versatile OL in two.
*Draft the best available WR in three.
*Draft best available TE in four.

Go into 2020 with franchise pass rusher and the best depth there in the NFL.
Have the most draft capital in the secondary in the NFL.
Have a damn strong DL.
Have an offensive line with five good starters and a couple good backups.
Have young, promising talent as well as veteran presence at skill positions.

Win next three Super Bowls and wave goodbye to Mack.

Sign Mack after Bears are forced to cut him.

Have one final resurgent year, win fourth Super Bowl.

When the Raiders drafted Khalil, they spent the 5th overall pick in the draft, which is about 1700 points on the chart I was looking at

https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp

Given the recent trade parameters - is Khalil Mack more or less valuable now than on the day he was drafted  ?

Could you have moved up to number 5 with the ammo the bears just invested ?   (bears had pick # 14 in 2014)

And pick 7 in 2015.  14th overall and 7th overall for 5th overall looks pretty good for the Raiders.
