It's a lock because Gruden recruited him and he's looked fantastic in camp as a runner and catching passes. You're kidding yourself if you think Richard/Washington/Warren are going to unseat him. RBs for 2018 - Lynch, Martin, Richard or Washington, Smith - Warren and Yuracheck (sp?) hit the PS Recruited? Practically a third of the roster right now was "recruited" here by Gruden or Guenther. But practically none are a lock to make the team. Martin is no different. I guess I don't put a lot of stock of looking great through 2 weeks of camp. But you may very well be right on who makes the team. Just don't think it's set in stone outside of lynch and smith.

Alright, I concede this argument. . . . if you can't see the obvious fact that Martin is 100% secure on this roster, I don't know what to tell you. No argument. Just a difference of opinion. No way for either of us to know if we're right since we can't read Gruden's mind. But as an interesting thought, I guess I personally don't consider any player a lock outside of four categories: 1) elite player (ie perennial pro bowler/recent all pro), 2) very high recent draft pick (current 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick/ 1st, 2nd round pick one year removed/ 1st round pick two years removed) 3) high paid player with a prohibitive dead cap, and 4) veteran starter with recent and consistent high level of play. However, separate from Martin, Obi may test my theory

It's not like he's been a huge bust on the field, he hasn't even gotten PT. That's obviously his fault but if we cut him and he goes somewhere else and makes noise at 24, that's a big blow for us. G
I think one of the RB's either gets traded or IR'd. Traded for a TE on a team with cuts coming at that position. IR'd because people always get hurt and if they sit 8 weeks when only needing 3 then they're able to fill in when someone goes down mid-season. Lynch, Smith, Martin (per others) Richard (Reminds Gruden of Gardner) Warren if he balls because we won't be able to hide him. Washington IMO would be odd man out but if nobody offers trades then I might go into the season with all of them. Warren would be my logical cut but we all see something that we hope is special and would love a FA gem to keep our cap reasonable after Mack's contract. Our future is dependant on keeping players on reasonable contracts at positions that can be rotated. Hence why LB's aren't coveted by those in control. LevBell is a baller but not paying him those big bucks. A team with a young/rookie QB might. Looking at you Cleveland. LOL
