The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec reports the Ravens "are bracing for" a multi-week suspension for CB Jimmy Smith.

Apparently, the team is already aware of the ban, and Smith is currently appealing it with the league. It stems from a violation of the personal conduct policy. Smith has been involved in a custody battle, and his ex accused him of illegal drug use and domestic violence last year, though no criminal charges have been handed down in the matter. Smith has missed 17 games over the past four years and was suspended four games last year for a PEDs violation.

We have our first "headache" of the season. Let's hope for the best. No matter what our depth is, losing a shutdown corner will always lower a defense's ceiling. We can still be Elite, but likely will need Jimmy playing to be truly special.
