Former Broncos running back Montee Ball is among those dismissing the Giants, claiming over the weekend that Denver will blow the doors off New York with ease. “Giants should be a walk. A cakewalk,” Ball told Broncos Breakdown. “We should go into New York and obviously come out with a W there.” So if Week 1 does go our way, just remember who gave the Giants some prime bulletin board material. How many players on your roster even know who Montee Ball is? "Hey guys - guess what this 2nd round bust that had 5 TD's for the Broncos from 2013-2014 just said about us! Let's go kick their butt!!" I am sure some ex-player in the history of the New York Giants has said that they will handily beat the Broncos on Sunday. You know you don’t have to care about this stuff, right? It’s not like you’re on the team being personally disrespected. People don’t believe in the Giants because your OL sucks, your QB sucks and the franchise hasn’t been relevant since the Obama administration (just like us). It’s what it is. Franchise has 1 trip to the playoffs in the last 10 years, if one drunk bum of an ex-player is what motivates them then you can probably write this off as another losing record. Remember when ppl suggested Von wasn’t worth 16M (the amount saved under discussion) and saying he should agree to a pay cut? TJ Watt is a far better player to invest in because of the stage of career he’s at - but 4/112M and 3/80 fully guaranteed, easy to see why Miller’s camp told Paton to pound sand and Paton rightfully acquiesced. The new pay scale of top pass rushers getting over 25-28M is the new standard We are already seeing 35-40M as the QB extension bar (which you pay for elite guys like Mahomes & Allen - not guys like Baker but that’s the bar). And likely only going to go up with the increasing revenues from the 2022 TV deals. The crazy part? Watt likely left money on the table. The next couple of offseasons are going to be eye opening for what constitutes market value for top players.
