I don't think you can realistically only keep 2 TEs. I'd imagine one of the young guys makes it. I was serious about "stashing" Fumagalli but it actually sounds like he's not going to be healthy enough to contribute this year, issues related to the hernia just keep flaring up with him.

That's a huge problem roster-wise if we want to keep Dymonte Thomas, both young CB's and Holland on the 53-man roster.  The only other viable solution is we go 2-QB (realistic IMO) and we go 5-WR (iffy IMO).     Or we IR-no return someone like Cravens, or cut a guy like Kerr.

Well, Pacman would help with the WR crunch, no? That 6th WR battle seems to be McKenzie vs. Cracraft but if Pacman can return punts, would either guy ever be active on game day? Keep in mind Lindsay is likely one of the active 46 and should see quite a few snaps split out wide.

One interesting development with the numbers crunch after the AJ Johnson signing: They seem bullish on him and probably can't afford to waive him and hope he comes back to the taxi squad. Realistically, you need 4 ILBs active on game day, is he a guy they can depend on to play defensive snaps if called upon? Three years out of football and just signed a couple weeks ago. Does his (likely) roster spot point to keeping 5 ILBs so they can keep him as an "inactive stash" and have Bierria/Zaire play as the 4th guy?

Yeah believe me I'd be all for 5 WR's with Lindsay as KR and Pacman as PR.   The only thing is we'd be carrying 2 rookies.   Personally I'd be fine with it - will Musgrave/Elway?    It's one of the reasons I really disliked taking both C-Henderson & McKenzie - we were basically forcing extra guys to be rostered to play actual WR.   One return weapon is justifiable, but 2 was a waste of resource allocation from the get-go.

I hate that we've wasted the picks, but that's a sunk cost.   Better that we don't compound the whiff picks with McKenzie/Henderson/Lynch picks by keeping them and letting other more valuable resources (both short and long-term, not just 2018-only guys) go.

I think Thomas/Parks would end up playing so much hybrid nickel back, that we'd roll with Jewell as the 3rd ILB and those 2 as our 4th LB's.

I do think Bierra is headed to the PS, FWIW.  I'd be shocked at a team claiming him. ILB is so disposable, unless you look special, and given ILB's don't fit nearly as well with the new ST rules, ILB devaluation to split between hybrid nickel guys and 2-down thumpers is happening a ton.

Well this could also create more roster relief - I won't believe it until Klis starts confirming this given how plugged he is to the FO, but if this is true, then D-Henderson being waived and David Williams going to the PS, that would create an extra spot with only 3 RB's and Janovich on O.    It highlights yet another pitfall last year by having JC, not being able to contribute on ST's and his injury risk no doubt led to the decision to go with 4 RB's - with a fresh rookie Freeman & Lindsay and Booker in Year 3, with Williams as a PS stash, could definitely see trying to work with only 3 RB's as a way to address the roster crunch elsewhere.

Will be interesting to see if Klis confirms this is possible.   And before ppl wring their hands over losing D-Henderson - it's just an example of how disposable the position is.  And again, given he didn't progress enough to crack last year's lineup until we were eliminated and even then not until Week 16-17 with a meh JC as 3rd RB, have to believe pass-pro and scheme pickup were major issues - which is a major no-go.    Also a great cautionary tale into reading too much into preseason work vs. 2nd/3rd team D's.

Yeah that’s going to be interesting.  Legwold on ESPN projected Johnson to make the team.

I don't remember seeing AJ playing with the defense in Washington. Hopefully he gets at least a half worth of snaps in the Arizona game. No need for a guy like Joe Jones who definitely isn't making the team to be playing ahead of him.

I feel like Langley is going to make it as our gunner @BroncosFan2010. It's tempting to knock Henderson off in your scenario, even though I don't want to see that. Maybe McDonald?

Definitely McDonald.   Sadly I think we need 9 OL given Veldheer and Leary’s health issues and Turner as one of our backup T’s.  In that scenario I could see both McDonald and D-Henderson cut.

I’ve alluded to it but I’ll repeat my belief that we will see way more DB’s with speed used for ST.    No running start and more blockers close to kickoff line means speed will be emphasized with DB over LB/FB types.

I would rather play it by ear regarding OL depth if it means we can keep McDonald. He is a pretty disruptive guy, and IMO our DL will be very dependent on rotation and staying fresh, since none of the guys are world beaters on their own. No backup OL is nearly as talented as McDonald.

I suppose. I just personally feel Henderson has better potential long-term to produce at a decent level at RB than Langley has at CB. But ya, gunners are important. Especially w/ rule changes.
