vike daddy
San Francisco kicker Robbie Gould is perfect this season, and he’s been awarded for it. Gould, who was 3-for-3 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points in Sunday’s win over the Lions, has been named the NFC special teams player of the week. The 35-year-old Gould is continuing his very strong play since the Bears cut him just before the start of the 2016 season. Bears G.M. Ryan Pace apparently thought Gould was past his prime, but Gould is 55-for-57 on field goals in three seasons since the Bears cut him. The four kickers who have kicked for the Bears since Gould’s departure are a combined 38-for-49. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/09/19/robbie-gould-named-nfc-special-teams-player-of-the-week-3/
SteelKing728
if Gould keeps kicking like that, he'll be playing into his 40s. Chicago is making me mad. They are going to be good sooner than later.
RpMc
Let's hope that Bailey does similar things for us.

vike daddy
Bears linebacker Khalil Mack went for tests on his ankle after hurting it against the Dolphins last Sunday and doctors didn’t find anything that ruled him out for this week’s visit from the Patriots. He hasn’t been ruled in for the game either, however. Head coach Matt Nagy said in his Wednesday press conference that the team will continue to monitor Mack throughout the week. Nagy said that he didn’t know whether Mack will be a participant in practice on Wednesday or not. The cautious approach and desire to have him ready to go against Tom Brady would seem to point to limited participation at best, but the injury report will bring the answer to that question. Nagy: “He’s day to day right now. We’re just going to continue to keep an eye on it and be more cautious than anything.” https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/10/17/bears-call-khalil-mack-day-to-day-with-ankle-injury/
Krauser
Bears are up to 4-3, and the rest of their schedule looks pretty good. They have 3 winnable road games against bad teams (Bills, Niners and Giants), and the Rams at home. They have 5 divisional games left (currently 0-1 after the loss in GB): home-and-home with the Vikings and Lions, plus the Packers at home. If they win their 3 easy road games, and 2 or 3 of their division games they'll be 9-7 or 10-6. 10-6 Bears would be division champs unless the Packers or Vikings get to 10-5-1 or better (for the Vikings that means finishing 6-2, for Green Bay 7-2), or the Lions make it to 10-6 (7-2 finish) with a tiebreaker. Even at 9-7 they'd have a good chance at a wild card especially with a head-to-head win over Seattle already in the bank Trubisky isn't great but he's good enough for the Bears defense, run game and offensive scheme to carry them to the playoffs this year. I still don't see it happening. I still see them going 9-7 at absolute best.

I’m saying they should win 9 or 10 games and make the playoffs. You want to disagree and take the under, that’s 8-8 or worse. They’re a pretty good team. All 3 losses have been by 7 points or less. 2 of their 4 wins have been by 2 TDs or more. 10-6 is completely realistic at this point, and even 9-7 should put them in the playoffs. VikeManDan
Trubisky and his ability to extend the play with his legs has me worried for our match-up add in the fact that we haven't shown up well in Chicago, although we are 2-2 under Zimmer there. vike daddy
Bears starting guard Kyle Long will miss the next six to eight weeks after suffering a foot injury on Sunday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. That could result in the Bears putting Long on injured reserve and bringing him back once he’s ready. Which might not be until the end of the regular season — or the start of the playoffs, when the Bears hope they’ll still be playing. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/10/30/bears-lose-kyle-long-for-6-8-weeks/

When their pass rush is doing what they're capable of, absolutely. Unfortunately, the last 3 weeks I think they have 3 sacks total which is why they've given up 65 points. With Mack being hobbled, the only guy getting after the QB is Hicks. Floyd stinks, Goldman is a run stuffer, and Lynch blows. Nichols has been a stud early (5th round pick from Delaware) but how much can they depend on him? This forces Fangio to blitz more than he'd like (before the MIA game, they were only blitzing 13% of the time, last in football) with Callahan, Trevathan and Smith and that takes away from the second and third levels. We'll see how healthy Mack is when he comes back. Edited October 31, 2018 by beardown3231
gopherwrestler
not known how serious, but maybe it is. Losing to the Lions could be big to help us out to have a chance at the division. Something to watch.
Vikes_Bolts1228
So Harry's late hit on Trubisky is giving great doubt that Mitch will be playing tomorrow vs. Detroit and he's listed as doubtful today. It'd be HUGE if Chase Daniels can't get the job done and we beat Green Bay. Please bail us out, Detroit....for the love of God.
VikeManDan
I'll take all the help we can get. We're going to need it. If Trubisky doesn't learn to properly slide this could be a problem for the Bears. If I recall the play it was not a feet first slide it was more sideways and I can't remember if Harry could've let up.
