He wasn't going to be playing while on IR anyway. How could being gifted $2.2M in cap space not be a good thing for them?
NorthCountryEvo
^^^ This was my thought. I mean, I don't know about them regaining cap space, but since he isn't already on IR, he was already lost... so they just double lost a guy? SteelKing728
Long term outlook. If he came back next season for Chicago and is caught again for PEDs he'd be suspended the entire season. That being said, they could just cut him after this season and save a pretty penny in doing so. Heimdallr
do suspensions count if you are on IR, or does he need to come off of IR and then serve 10 games?
CriminalMind
Suspensions also gone with no game checks & IR us get paid. So it would make sense of they start withholding check's now

Nope, don't have to come of IR first. Suspension can be served while on IR. Benefit for the Bears is they don't have to pay the guy during suspension. This helps a team's cap just like it does if an active player is suspended.
SteelKing728
Adrian Amos made the pff mid-season all pro team. https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/pro-nfl-2017-pff-mid-season-all-pro-team (And so did Harrison Smith)
vike daddy
Bears kicker Connor Barth missed a game-tying field goal at the end of Sunday’s loss to the Lions, and that will be the last field goal he attempts in Chicago. Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports that Barth is out and will be replaced by Cairo Santos. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/11/20/bears-make-a-kicking-change-after-missed-game-tying-field-goal/
SemperFeist
? if only they had kept that kicker who was as good as gold outdoors for Chicago. What was his name?

vike daddy
Bears guard Kyle Long will end the season on injured reserve for the second year in a row. Long left the Bears’ game against 49ers last Sunday with a shoulder injury. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/12/05/bears-place-kyle-long-on-injured-reserve/
vike daddy
According to multiple reports, the Bears have fired coach John Fox. Fox was 14-34 in three seasons with the Bears, and his preference for veterans wasn’t and isn’t a good mix for building around a young quarterback such as Mitchell Trubisky. The 62-year-old Fox didn’t have nearly the success in Chicago that he did in Carolina (73-71) or Denver (46-18), as he went to Super Bowls in both those stops. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/01/01/bears-fire-john-fox-after-three-seasons/
