While never being much of a 4-3 guy at the NFL level he did in college. He also has played the DE and OLB position in the 3-4 defense. honestly if we are looking for a DE for our #3 I’d like to look for more of a pass rushing DE outside of mainly a defensive run stopping type. swede700
Neal Anderson was better.
SemperFeist
Good signing for them. If they draft Ridley at 7, their receiving corps will look pretty solid. I expected them to grab one of the top FA receivers. Kinda glad it isn’t Sammy Watkins.

They will add another in the draft without a doubt, but now with Merideth and Robinson the need slides down a little.

swede700
Just now, gopherwrestler said: big for the bears True. Which means for the Vikings to get an athletic TE, it will likely come through the draft...although they certainly could bring in Eifert since he'll cost less because of his injury history. gopherwrestler
Sounds like Burton is getting 4 yrs $32m... $8M/yr is what I expected earlier in the thread. That’s a nice contract.
VikeManDan
Bears definitely giving Mitch some weapons.
SemperFeist
I think they are massively overpaying for a TE2. I don’t see Burton as an every down starter.

RpMc
The Bears have some nice pieces that can move around now with Burton, Gabriel and Cohen... put together with more "standard" weapons like Howard and Robinson, and they're putting Trubisky in a much better position to succeed in year two. I don’t think anybody should sleep on Merideth as well. I really think he is a solid receiver.
RpMc
If they keep him... tendering him at the lowest level when he's an UDFA is asking for him to be poached.
