I liked him coming out to be a solid pass rushing specialist. Ravens are not exactly loaded at edge so if they’re willing to give him up for nothing, not really expecting much.

It looks like they had 5 guys in front of him

Suggs, Judon, Z. Smith, Tim Williams, and Tyus Bowswer.
So if he also underperformed, then they just wanted anything for him probably.

But, could at least be a decent rotational piece and hopefully reach his 2nd round potential.

Worries me now that Landry will miss time

Think the bigger concern is Morgan. Coming off knee surgery, wondering if he could start the year on IR. As this guy has ST value, wondering if they expect bigger roles for some of the current depth guys if Rak, Landry and Morgan are all banged up.

Well Landry’s out of the boot so it’s not him. Morgan could very well be the concern. As far as I know he’s not going the field drills like Evans Matthews were and what Conklin has been doing.

Titans should still get by Miami without Morgan. I don’t know what kind of knee injury Morgan actually had but if he’s able to get back for Houston or the Jags id be fine with that.

If Landry starts to become a start out of the gate then he can take as long as he needs ?

This was more a case of the Ravens falling into some special depth at the position than anything else.

-Terrell Suggs play hasn't fallen off

- In the 5th Round of the same '16 draft we selected Matt Judon who turned out to be a better player than Correa

- In the '17 draft we drafted Tyus Bowser and Tim Williams

- Za'Darius Smith has developed into our new Pernell McPhee

It really isn't fair to say Correa under performed, he was up against special circumstances. The much publicized and embarrassing switch to ILB by Pees aside, he never had a shot. Terrell Suggs is a HOFer, Dumervil was still in house and starting when we drafted him, Matt Judon has 12 sacks in 12 starts, Za'Darius Smith is an inside/outside rusher who's lower sack totals hide the QB Hits and Pressures he stacks, Tim Williams as a pure Pass Rusher was a 1st Round prospect but Off Field concerns hurt his stock- he hasn't been in any trouble and is balling for us, Tyus Bowser is a super athlete and future star at the position- our next Adalius Thomas.

There wasn't enough snaps in the rotation to go around, and next year will be the last on Correa's Rookie contract. We needed the extra roster spot and now was the best time to move Kamalei. You guys got a good deal. Looking at what he's shown this preseason, I'd consider him a 3rd-4th Round caliber EDGE piece.

Kamalei isn't very long so he has limitations as a pass rusher and he also doesn't set a strong edge. His motor is good, and he's got pretty good explosion. Obviously in the HOF game he went off, but if you want a good look at him I suggest the most recent game for us against Miami. It was against higher caliber players, not the Bear's 3rd stringers and he played well. He was close to a strip sack on Laremy Tunsil and had a highlight reel bull rush later on in the game. I consider his ceiling as being a Poor Man's Clay Mathews. Which isn't bad. You guys just drafted Harold landry, get another high end EDGE piece and add Correa into the mix. That would be a solid 3 man rotation for the Titan's future once Morgan and Orakpo are gone.

BTW, for all the "Special Depth" we have at OLB. Correa was a backup ILB and STer last year, and Tyus Bowser along with Tim Williams weren't part of the rotation all season. It wasn't because they were under performing either. Week 2, Tyus Bowser was the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Week and Tim Williams torched Joe Thomas for the 1st QB Hit of his career to end our game against the Browns. The next week they combined for 18 snaps in a game where we got blown out 44-7.....

Brace yourself guys, Pees is a wack job. Your only hope is that Vrabel being a defensive guy himself can monitor the insanity. Best wishes to Kamalei though, hope he gets a real shot at it.

I disagree with my fellow Raven fan up there. 1st he's overrating our young OLB's, Bowser has done nothing close to get called a future star. If Correa didn't have draft capital he'd be a special teamer only. Solid depth but don't expect much (which I assume you guys don't due to only giving up a 6th).

I hope no one here's expecting too much from Correa.  He's coming in here as depth.  He seems to be a more complete player than Wallace and Finch, so he'll be ahead of them for that reason alone.

I do find it strange that all interviews with Correa seem to hint at the fact that he's finally comfortable having moved back outside.  Never actually called Pees out... but it kinda seems he's calling someone out.  Pees must have signed off on them trading for him.. JRob/Vrabel don't seem like the type that will force themselves on their staff if they're completely against something... so Pees must have something in mind for him.  And maybe Vrabel sees someone who they can work with and maybe approach the potential that had him drafted in the 2nd... and had some draft guys and NFL execs comparing him to Matthews.

If nothing else, he's another young, versatile high motor piece for our LB corps.  I like the potential at a 6th round cost.  Late 6th rounder at that... 32nd pick in the 6th to be more exact.  B|

Not really. More about the Ravens/Pees being foolish and immediately trying to convert him from an edge player (and when drafted they actually needed juice off the edge) to an inside linebacker. It was bad. Good flyer for the Titans to take.

I wouldn't say they were being foolish. They were in a bind during the 2017 offseason after their weak side ILB, Zachary Orr, suddenly retired. Matt Judon, who was drafted the same year as Correa, had already surpassed him on the depth chart. Plus they drafted Tyus Bowers in the 2nd and had Tim Williams fall to them at the end of round 3 in 2017. That's what made them decide to move Correa inside, but he wound up getting beat out by a converted safety. Having moved him back outside this offseason, they must have felt they they were deep enough at the position, hence the trade.

It feels like his departure was more due to the circumstance of a late round pick shining immediately and a BPA-based FO winding up landing two edge rushers high in the following draft than it was Correa just being a disappointment. I don't get a Kevin Dodd vibe from Correa even though the production is similar.

Also interesting to note, including Correa, the Ravens have spent five, day 1 or day 2 picks on front seven/edge players since 2016. Thats not even including Judon, who was a 5th round pick and is already a starter.
