Which again plays into the whole "Bran wanted to be king so he set all these parts in motion purposefully in order to place himself there" bull crap.

If you assume Bran did it to be King and it just wasn’t the best outcome available. Dany as Queen was a disaster. Jon didn’t want to be King and was the person best suited to kill Dany.

After that, there weren’t many viable rulers

Why?

There is no why. Not sending him to the wall would have because apparently Sansa is not the smartest character in the world. Pre-Season 6 Baelish would have found a way to either bribe or get every unsullied and Dothraki to kill eachother thus saving Westeros from having to do it.

"AN OPEN FIELD, NED!"

You were getting a war if Jon was King. You had Dothraki and Unsullied there. Meanwhile Yara was pissed and wanted Jon dead. And Dorne is a wildcard as well.

So you would have had the remaining Unsullied, Dothraki, Iron Born, and Dornish vs what was left of the Northern army and Vale and probably Riverlands.

That’s a disaster

Bran came all the way south just to be King. Contradicting himself and the idiot writers who wrote his dialogue. Arya was the best person to kill Dany, could just as easily lured her to one of the ledges and pushed her off.

That would have been trash. Clearly Jon was the best character to do it. Arya already took out the Night King. She wasnt ever going to take out Danny. She actually didnt even seem to oppose her as much as Sansa did. She was ready to have her be Queen

No he came because he knew he was meant to be King and it was probably the best outcome they had. He outright said he didn’t want it.

But realistically the Three Eyed Raven who knew all that didn’t have prospects of establishing a dynasty and had strong ties all over the kingdom was the best option they had

Since when has Yara shown to be loyal? She was wrote to be loyal to Dany but she as an Iron Islander has really shown to be anything but.

People keep forgetting how little she had followed orders throughout the series. She disobeyed her father to rescue her brother when he strictly forbid it, stole a hefty chunk of ships from the new King of the Iron Islands, went off to secure the Iron Islands suppsedly for Dany and yet Dany never gave her that order. They could have just as likely have been ordered to go to White Harbor and wait.

If she liked Dany well enough she might have done it but this is a woman who just destroyed their oldest tradition and really their only means to support themselves that they know, so the only time we really see this affection towards Dany was at the trial.

Best outcome because the writing set it up that way in one episode? Change a few words around and it's a completely different story.

Bran just became President Bran Washington. The man who didn't want any of it but came all that way and just graciously accept the duty. It's just bad bad writing.

Yea because that would not have been exciting, and they wanted to give Jon his happy ending of not ending up on the Throne and going back North and petting wolf.

And really? Arya didn't want to kill Dany after what she just did? That's reaching and more contradicting of her character if it were ever true.

Uhhhh Sansa? At least she's still a Stark, and I mean if we're disregarding the ability to produce an heir she has just as strong of a claim to the throne as Bran does.

Oh shoot, I thought you meant PRE killing Dany, not post killing Dany. My bad.

Speaking of Yara, glad to see she had literally no reaction at all when Sansa declared the North an independent kingdom. Not like that was a major plot point of the Ironborne or anything...Or Dorne for that matter.

This has probably been brought up before, but if Bran foresaw all this and did nothing to stop it (in fact encouraged it by having Sam tell Jon his true heritage) isn’t he just as bad as Danaerys for letting all those innocent people burn? You could argue he’s even worse as he’s making a cold, calculated decision to do it whereas Dany was ruled by her emotions.

It would have made so much more sense if Dorne and the Iron Islands become independent..... Both of their entire histories are built on that, yet they are just like, whatever.

I mentioned that last night to an extent. The other Lords had to pissed if that was an option. Not to mention, the concept opens a huge can of worms on the back end.

I wrote last week or the week before that I wouldn't have been shocked if the entire thing feel apart and went back to seven individual kingdoms.

democracy? far from it

everyone does get a happy ending pretty much though.

"From this moment on all rulers are elected. Chosen by the lords and ladies of Westeros." Sounds like Democracy to me. They laughed at Sams proposal of every citzen getting the right to choose their rulers and yet that's what's going to happen after this current generation is gone cause no one gets to pass on their title's and land now.
