Week 1: Arizona Cardinals GDT

Well, 2018 is going to be interesting now that we don't have #8 to talk about. That't right. Kevin Hogan has been cut.

Some new faces, and some old ones. Lots of big boys on the line now.

Good ole 26 is back. And I dont mean Portis or Breeland.

No Dallas cuts on the team. (Yep, Scandrick be gone too)

Keep all game talk here, keep on thread.

Without a true starting QB last season, the Cardinals finished the season at 8-8 in a heavy NFC West.

The key personnel for the Cardinals are David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald and a new QB in Josh Rosen. Even though Sam Bradford is listed at the top of the depth chart, it wont be long before Rosen is peaking at first team reps. Lucky for the Redskins, they get Bradford.

Arizona has switched back to a 4-3 defense (/sigh) to emphasize their pass rushers and the size on the interior. There are some weak spots in the middle of the defense though and creating mismatches are the key.

Washington will be sporting a healthy line up except for Derrius Guice who tore his ACL in preseason. But never fear, Adrian Peterson has come in to save the day. Alot of expectations for Alex Smith coming in on a big contract and the offensive line should be returning all of its starters from last season.

Cardinals play in newly named stadium called the State Farm Stadium. Don't know what that means other than new sponsorship, but its a 4 oclock start in the desert and should be a good game to watch, cause its football.

That being said:

Redskins: 23

Cardinals: 17

I get the feeling this will be APs best game as a Redskin. Can’t wait to see our new and improved and healthy run D battle David Johnson

Skins 23

Birds 17

This is where Harvey-Clemons or Nicholson are needed. Someone that can shadow him all day.

This might be the best bet of the season with the Skins only getting one point and it was hard to find that.  I expect we get a lot more points after game 1. Arizona and Johnson will have big days and win by at least a TD. We are very young on the DL and they need time to develop. Johnson goes over 150 all purpose yards. Bradford is very good when healthy. With a running game he is deadly. Arizona defense is very good and elite at home.

our run game will under perform and 3/4 of Smith’s completions will be to backs and TE’s meaning we need long sustained drives. Not probably gonna happen often.

Last prefiction- we have either a field goal, extra point or punt blocked. The timing has looked terrible all preseason on these because it’s no fun to practice these in camp.

Sorry to be a downer, but bet Cardinals and give the point if you have to.  Doc out

31-13
