James Lofton
Do you expect our running game to change now that we don't have a FB?
Fl0nkerton
Can't say for certain, but I expect to see less FB dives on 3rd and short. Just one fellas opinion.
Shanedorf
I think our running game already changed Fullback Snap counts per Football Outsiders: 2015 - 305 2016 - 288 2017 - 181 2018 - 0 ? Lewis/ Kendricks/Tonyan will get those snaps
Pugger
Not until Aaron Jones returns from his suspension...
Joe
the only way it drastically changes is if our pass/run ratio is 3/1 or some absurd number.
Norm
If Rip isn't on a team, I feel like somehow he going to end up here after a few weeks.
Green19
Define change... clearly it will because we won’t have a true FB. So you have TE hybrids and likely different formations that will be favored, maybe the pistol if they want an I formation look. If you mean production from the running game... no. Not while Rodgers is the starter. Both he and McCarthy ignore the run game. They do it enough to keep “defenses honest”
AlexGreen#20
Kendricks will take those lead blocking snaps. He took about half of them last year.
Golfman
Yes, it will be very effective this year and that is a MAJOR change from years past.
PossibleCabbage
I figure that fundamentally the identity of this team is "a passing team carried by Aaron Rodgers" so the Packers are never going to be an especially effective running team. ricky
3 hours ago, Golfman said: Yes, it will be very effective this year and that is a MAJOR change from years past. Interesting. So, what do you see as reasons for the running game improving? Better health for the RB's? That would be a definite improvement. Better blocking from the TE's than the FB? Just curious.
