Dolphins TE MarQueis Gray out for season

Recommended Posts

I mean, it was always going to be Gesicki time. Both him and Gray we're going to see a pretty substantial role. Really sucks, Gray has been a solid player for us over the last couple seasons, and his blocking will be missed, Gesicki sucks as a blocker. Resigning Gavin Escobar will help, but he's obviously not as ideal as Gray.

dang, could be his career done, average guys don't often survive an achiles injury.

Rookie TE Smythe should be getting most of Gray's PT. Escobar should be the #3 TE.

Oh right, I forgot about Smythe

Rhett Ellison made it back from the injury, and even signed on to a new team after the fact.

I guess he is a blocker more than receiving TE?

either way it is a devastating injury.

Everyone sleeping on AJ Derby, who played 30 snaps per game for the last few games of 2017, and made the squad as the 4th TE over Escobar.

After Gray, Derby has the most experience in Gase's offense. Gesicki will have his packages, so will Smythe. Escobar may or may not be active.

Rhett is a TE/FB hybrid type.

He is. Maybe that's the reason why?
