If we acquire another smaller, penetrating DT, how many snaps are they actually going to play? We are in the nickel about 75% of the time and our 2nd DT is essentially lined up as a 1 tech and is supposed to soak up blockers in the run game.

I don't think they would line up next to Casey unless it is an obvious passing situation. Otherwise they are moved off the ball and OGs are getting to our LBers.

So they could get about 25% of the snaps just subbing in for him and then however much in situations where we strongly are expecting pass.

I think if were are making starter investments in a DT it's going to be a 315+ guy that can rush the passer.

If we get another shorter penetrator I think we do so as a rotational guy with less of an investment until we don't have so many holes to fill.

Yeah, this is a great point and I don’t disagree with any of this. And with Daquan’s cap # being so high and investing a 2nd rounder in A Johnson, I don’t see this either anymore. Regarding another Falcon, though, I heard it was rumored Vic Beasley was on the trade block around the trade deadline this year — I wouldn’t mind giving up a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him to complement Harold Landry.  Might be worth a shot JROB could take.

Not only is Josh Allen being projected to go top 5 or top 10 now, Montez Sweat is being projected top 20 fairly often.

That would mean all of the first round edge rushers I like would be off the board when we pick and we can either reach on one or draft another position.

If that's the case I like Kelvin Harmon as our #2 WR of the future and we'll need to find another means to getting an edge rusher.

I mean Landry did fall to the 2nd round. Guys fall for whatever reason. Plus there’s always the possibility of moving up. We want to make a statement in our home at the draft, I’d say moving up and taking an impact guy would do that. I’m still all in on going after Lawrence. Ford is solid player but not a game changer IMO and Clowney’s injury history/inconsistency isn’t a place I’d like to go. Lawrence will probably be tagged though sadly.

1. Yeah I firmly believe Lawrence will be tagged (the Cowboys will have 51 million in cap room starting next league year) and Ford will also be tagged no doubt (Chiefs will have 42 million in cap room starting next league year). Also, I just don’t see JROB drafting another OLB rookie that is going to need some time to develop/provide depth like Landry has this season. I think there are 2 options, and 2 options ONLY: 1. He trades for an OLB/DE from another team in the NFL around the free agency period (possibly Vic Beasley) or moves up in the draft for Nick Bosa or Josh Allen.

2. Regarding WR, if JROB moves up in the draft for a OLB/DL in Round 1, he obviously won’t have the ammunition to find a starter-caliber WR2 in Round 2 for our team. For this reason,  I believe Golden Tate is a serviceable stop-gap option for 1-2 years. Also, Quincy Enunwa would be a nice option here on a 2 year deal.

3. I think we will cut Cyprien and re-sign Vaccaro to a 2-3 year deal.

4. If Kelechi Osemele is released from the Raiders in the off-season, I can see JROB going after him and offering a 2 year deal to sign with our team.

I also agree that they aren't going to want to have a wide open starting spot at EDGE and have no one to fill it but a rookie, even a first round rookie. As good as Evans and Landry have been, they still weren't the starters. I think Conklin is the only player in the Robinson era who was a starter week 1 of his rookie year.

I also think there's zero chance we trade up for Bosa (going to require 3 first round picks to get that high) and likely zero chance we trade up for Allen if we have to get into the top 10 to get him. I could see us moving up a couple spots for Montez Sweat and signing a stop gap OLB.

I could also see us trading for someone and drafting another position.

I don't think we expect a rookie WR to be our #2. Supposedly this offense is hard enough with all the option routes, we don't need a guy who's learning how to be a WR in the NFL also tryin to learn that. Quincy Enunwa is my favorite as well. Tyrell Williams is my #2. Golden Tate is my #2 if he's available.

Brian Burns is a guy I see projected to us often. He's an 6'4" 235 lb OLB who had 10 sacks this year. I don't think I like the pick. He's incredibly athletic, but he looks too lean. I think he's a high risk pick as a guy who pretty much only wins on speed. We already have that super fast edge rusher, I kind of want someone who is more well-rounded.

Who we get to rush the edge is going to be very key. Former GM Floyd Reese feels we could be a super bowl defense with a legit pass rush that doesn't depend on the blitz.

So yeah we can't get an slender speed rusher. Need someone with some moves.

Someone I’ve taken a liking to is PR Sutton Smith out of NIU. Just recently declared for the draft. Former RB out of high school. Insane motor and get off. Led the nation in sacks last year with 14 sacks and 30 TFL. Tied for the lead this year with 15. He’s also produced against the better competition NIU has faced. I think he’ll rise up draft boards but size will hurt him as he’s only 6’1 240. Does has some decent size arms though. Will be a 3rd down specialist early on but I’d like to see what Vrabel could turn him into something with his effort and speed.

If we don’t resign Vaccaro(stupid I know) I’d like to target Jaquan Johnson in the draft. It’ll be interesting to see what we do with the safety position this offseason with Cyprien coming back from a torn ACL and Vaccaro as a FA. Vaccaro is a clear upgrade to me and I don’t think it’s close but Cyprien isn’t a horrible player but I wonder what the long term play is with Cruikshank.

Andre Dillard is an OT that has been ranked anywhere from day 2 to day 3. I thought I had found an absolute gem and Daniel Jeremiah just started watching him and said he thinks he goes in round 1. Happens everytime I think the tape is better than their round grade. Very athletic and good pass blocker.

I still really like Garrett Bradbury as an athletic C day 2.

Clemson's Christian Wilkins #42 and Alabama's Raekwon Davis #99 will both be playing today. Both may be available when we pick and both are guys we could play in multiple spots on the DL and play the run and the pass.

iDL isn't our teams biggest need, but it is the drafts biggest strength, and we could potentially see the Titans play to the drafts strength.

Wilkins at 6'3" 310 is more athletic while Davis is 6'7" 310 and an absolute stud in the ground game. Davis had 8.5 sacks in 2017, but only 0.5 this season. Wilkins has 4 and 5 sacks in the last two years respectively. Wilkins can't play the run as well as Davis and may not be able to play the 1tech like Davis can.

Both would be an asset to the team depending on how we want to play our DL.

Jerry Tillery #99 (6'6" 304) for Notre Dame is also rated highly, but I don't think he's as good as the other two.
