nlesthought
I agree we need an OC...but is the OC going to get play-calling duties? guess it depends which route veteran OC will want ownership of the calls. Young OC might be OK with the “collaborative” setting.

Draws a base formation....then says “He’s so good at it what if we did..” ~draws a PA boot~ “move him out here more?”

That doesn’t warrant a Schwartz firing with all the injuries and crap play he’s had to deal with. Get him Malik back, another edge rusher and one or two capable CBs and he probably has a top 5 defense all around. I think it’s more on Howie than anyone. Injuries derailed this team early and often. This is just one of those mulligan years. Reload this offseason. We DO need an actual OC next year though. That’s the #1 for me. is the defense being any good 1 of 4 years really enough to keep his job?

Not enough to lose it is more the point. It’s potentially 3 out of 4 years in the playoffs.

I have a problem with how he runs his defense from time to time just as much as the next man. But Howie resigning Darby and not upgrading Mills is definitely proven to be the issue, don’t you think? SF - they lose to SEA week 17 they go on the road. Not scared of their weapons or whats his face at QB. 2. GB - Win tonight or next week win the division, young secondary. 3. SEA - Dinged up but they're battle tested. 4. MN - Better Defense, RBs are knicked but their WRs are getting healthy.

Seattles D. 21st in points 27th in yards. The one thing they do for some reason is cause turnovers. Which explains a lot about their record. They’re 11-4 with a +12 point differential. For comparison, Tampa is 7-8 with a +15.

Would be my order as well. Minny I think would be able to handle us pretty comfortably. 49ers have a QB w/ no playoff experience, would be a long way from home playing in cold temp, and their strength is their run game, which is the only thing our D can stop. I still think I'd predict a 49ers win, but they're our best chance. Of course I think it's 50/50 whether we can even beat the Giants next week.
