Eligible this year for regular induction

Gary Clark

Bryan Mitchell

Chanp Bailey

 Joe Jacoby from old timers

As much as I loved Clark I don’t think he makes it.

B Mitch should but seems like he’ll be a super old timer entry

Champ will go in as a Bronco

Jacoby I can’t believe hasn’t gone in yet. Maybe because Grimm is in the committee feels the hogs are represented enough? Who knows.

Adding one I’d like to see Wilber Marshall at least get more consideration but I’d understand him not making it. Guy was on two of the greatest teams of all time in 85 Bears and 91 Skins.

All of them, hello! Especially BMitch, Jaccoby and Bailey, andcits easy to make the case for Gary Clark - who should’ve retired a Redskin - of Michael Irvin got in.

Clarks #s: 699 recs, 10,586 yds, 65 TDs (2 Super Bowls)

Irvin: 750 yds, 11,904 yds, 65 TDs (3 Super Bowls)

Yeah Wilber deserves it too.

Champ will go in as a Bronco & Redskin. He did play 5 years in DC and was part of arguably our best team - 1999 - since we last won the Super Bowl in 91-92. It still chaps my arse that Snyder/Cerrato blew that team up before it reached its full potential. Anyways, Players represent all the teams they played for when they go in, even Bruce Smith recognized the Redskins.

Clark and Mitchell probably only qualify as the Hall of the Very Good for non-Redskin fans. Bailey's in for sure, but he's more associated with Denver as @bigdog44 pointed out (an error on Washington's part; yes I know why, but still, a mistake).

Jacoby's problem is that there is only one Senior Committee nominee for this year (the Contributors get two). It will swap next year. The good news is that most Senior Committee nominees make the Hall.

BMitch is only 2nd to Jerry Rice in all-purpose yards in the history of the league. He should be in. He’s the best special teams player in the history of the NFL.

Best in the history of the NFL? Sure he’s my fave too but Devin Hester definately struck more fear in opposing coaches. For a while Dante Hall too

They don’t have the longevity that he did and the yards. How does the NFL justify keeping the 2nd leading yard gainer in NFL history out of the HofF? I don’t know how they can, unless they’re going to say special teams aren’t as important which is hogwash, they put a punter in the Hall.

Just for arguments sake Randy Moss is 24th on the all purpose yards list and Jim Brown is 27th. Who would you rather on your team?

There's only three pure specialists: Jan Stenerud (at time of induction, most points scored in a career by a kicker (only George Blanda had more and he also played QB)), Morten Andersen (broke Stenerud's record, currently holds all time record) and Ray Guy. And Guy had to get in via the Senior Committee.

If your claim to Hall status is via special teams, you aren't getting in unless you are truly exceptional.

Via the Senior Committee. Guy also was nominated via the normal route seven times (1992, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2002, 2007, and 2008) before getting admitted via the Senior Committee route in 2014. Brian Marshall has never been a finalist.

Keep in mind that the best punter in college is awarded the "Ray Guy Award."

So, no, in terms of the Hall of Fame, special teams are not important. If you are an offensive or defensive player that also plays special teams, that can help you, but a pure specialist isn't getting in.

Or Herschel Walker (11th, 18,168 yards). Or Larry Fitzgerald (23rd, 15,689 yards)

And he was, 2nd all time in all-purpose yards, 1st all time in return yards, super bowl winner.
