Whicker
SINGAPORE Week 2 Motivation Division game against a retooled team with a new owner, location and QB. After playing the best team from last season now we get the worst. Starting 2-0 for the first time in forever would go a long way to getting the season off right, Base Offense - 21 (1 RB, 1 FB, 2 WR, 1 TE) This is the offense the Pats/49ers run more than anyone in the NFL. It’s flexible and allows us to create mismatches with our RB’s versus most teams built to stop 3-4 WR sets that are popular now. Conner earned the start last week but we’ll manage his carries with a 50/50 split with the still very capable Kareem Hunt. Powell will give them a rest as needed without losing much in the passing or running game. Juszczyk again provides big play ability more than his exceptional blocking. Ryan Switzer will get in a jet sweep or two as well. Blocking scheme Hawaii has several good players on their DL. Clowney and Ansah will be countered with Staley and hopefully Cannon. If Cannon can’t go Rankins will be the next man up. Buckner is a force in the middle, the RB or FB will provide an extra blocker inside to give Jimmy G some more time to throw on passing downs. Passing game Base offense is used about 30% of the time. Allen and Davis provide more than adequate threats for Hawaii to deal with. In 3 WR sets will show lots of looks. Dorsett is off to a good start and slides Allen into the slot giving us a huge mismatch against Hawaii’s depleted LB corp and weak Safeties (Is Joseph even a starter?). Trent Taylor is a slot machine as well in our hurry up, leaving Allen outside, where we will again attack the seam. Ebron will be the main TE giving us an extra blocker against they Nightmarcher passrush. In 2 TE sets along with Seal-Jones we will go back to the well and target the middle of the field to move they chains. Extras - Listing a RS this week in Switzer as he will help us gain valuable field position on the road in addition to helping on offense. Defense (5-2) Pin our ears back - The Key to stopping DangeRuss is to give him no time to develop plays with his deep WR’s Brown and Diggs. We’re going to bring the house with Donald, Snacks and Joseph clogging the lanes to give Barkley nowhere to run. Hunter and Griffen will collapse the pocket and disrupt Wilson’s timing. On Passing downs Snacks and Joseph will come off and Griffen will slide allowing Avery to bring his talent as a pass rusher to the forefront. Charlton and Morgan will keep everyone fresh. The Hawaii OL doesn’t scare us as some of the guys are playing out of position and they don’t have much depth. Next Man Up - With Jones out Jaylon Smith will take over at MLB. He’ll be a spy against Barkley. Thompson will cover the TE. In 4-3 looks Avery will come in at SLB in a Bruce Irvin role and provide an extra rusher. We feel we can move Avery around the field and get a good matchup allowing him to shine. Fluid Secondary - Sometimes it’s about getting your best players on the field. In our base defense we’ll match up man to man. Wayne will draw to tough out in Brown but will have help over the top with Bates in a High Safety role. King will cover Diggs and press him at the LOS to disrupt his route. Johnson will cover Garcon in the slot. When we go to a nickel, Quandre Diggs come in to cover the slot freeing Johnson up to double Diggs. This 3 safety look gives us our best defenders in the secondary with most of the guys hybrid CB/S. In Dime looks Jalen Mills comes in to cover the 4th WR. TL:DR: Pressure Wilson a ton. Run the ball and control the clock. Eek out another close win. Hawaii Nightmarchers Well….Hawaii came stumbling out of the gate last week. I’m going to blame it on nerves, a new team, a new stadium, a lot of new players playing together for the first time, and a dummy GM who didn’t check that his Center was ruled out. The team looks to come back to the gridiron re-focused with our first game against a division foe. Luckily for Hawaii we again get to stay at home while Singapore takes a 19 hour flight across the globe to their first road game. Offense Our goal on offense this week is to target the back 7 of Singapore. Singapore boasts one of the best defensive lines in the game. While I have full confidence in our O-line, now playing with a healthy center, we’ll still be giving them assistance in the form of TE chips and the occasional two TE (Goedert) or Extra OL (Shon Coleman) max protect looks. With the additional time Russell Wilson will have additional time to execute our game plan. In the run game we plan on using a lot of outside runs, taking advantage of the extra blockers to seal off the edges and allow the RBs to find space. We also plan on targeting the running backs out of the backfield as an extension of the running game. Barkley will get the majority of the carries but Dion Lewis will get some touches and Tarik Cohen will be used all over the field from out wide, to the slot, to the backfield and will be targeted a handful of times to catch Singapore snoozing for some chunk yardage. As always, Russ has the green light if there are any open holes. In the passing game we believe that Antonio Brown, Stefon Diggs, and Pierre Garcon should have no problem beating Trae Waynes, Jalen Mills, and Desmond King one on one. No matter how they line-up against our team we’ll be sure to exploit their weaknesses targeting Waynes on some quick in routes, throwing some Double moves at Jalen Mills and running extended routes against King. We’ll also be sure to keep Singapore their toes by targeting the TE on a few routes. With both the TEs and RBs out of the backfield we plan on exploiting the loss of Singapore’s best coverage LB last week in Deion Jones on the inside while allowing the WRs to wreak havoc on the outside. Defense Our goal on defense is simple, break Jimmy GQ and shut down the run. We’ll be lining up in a base 4-3 man scheme. Hawaii plans a relentless attack of the Singapore line, specifically the weak right side by lining up Deforest Buckner over Josh Kline who got manhandled week 1 by Sylvester Williams, and Ziggy Ansah over Marcus Cannon who was only able to play 61% of NEs snaps last week. In the base 3 LBs we’ll be sure to blitz regularly and make Jimmy’s life hell. We plan on rotating in Clark, Armstead, Phillips, and Williams (we’re guessing the same result will happen) to keep the DL fresh. Our base 4-3 will specifically target the run game and fill the gaps in the line. Kareem Hunt and Le’veon BellJames Conner are the meat of this offense and we will shut it down. We’re also going to bring Karl Joseph down as the 8th man in the box to help eliminate the running game and stack the box. Tahir Whitehead will cover Ebron with assistance from Joseph, Joseph will also draw coverage if they decide to throw the ball to the FB again. In the secondary we’ll be playing man to man. Casey Heyward will line-up on Keenan Allen, we figure he knows all of his tricks from practice so he’ll be able to shut him down. If not we’ll be shading DJ Swearinger to his side to help over the top. On the other side we’ll have Marshon Lattimore on an island against Corey Davis and we don’t anticipate any issues. If Singapore decides to go nickel or dime and for some reason thinks it’s a smart idea to bring Phillip Dorsett or Trent Taylor on the field we’ll bring in Bobby McCain, one of the best slot corners in the league for Nickle and the excellent Mike Hughes in on dime coverage. Singapore spreading the offense and going 4 wide would probably end up in a broken Jimmy so we don’t anticipate it but we’ll be sure Jimmy doesn’t call that play ever again. SirA1
14.5 hour flight. I checked too. Not something you'd want to advertise on road games as its a double edged sword. Ansah and Cannon out so next men up.

TedLavie
Going Singap. I think Hawaii takes an early lead with Singap defense being so agressive. That will lead to some stops from the Sentinels defense, but a couple of big plays too given Hawaii weapons. Russ is a master at protecting the ball so I'm not expecting a ton of turnovers there. On the other side, Singapore offense is a bit too limited to answer pound for pound, but I think they get a big play from Allen and the Staley vs Clark/Armstead becomes huge for Singap. As the game develops the lack of depth at edge becomes an issue, especially for Clark who has mostly been a pass rush specialist in his career. Singapore sticking to its outside running works in their favour as they extend the drives, and give rest to their DL. 24-21 Sentinels
Hockey5djh
Next man up for Hawaii. While obviously not as good I have full faith in Frank Clark, a top 25 pass rusher, and Arik Armstead, the 2016 leader in pass rush productivity to fill in. Obviously our 4-3 alignment and stacked box will only help in the run game I still believe that this group can be productive against a weaker overall line who is also missing guys. I also think we have a decided advantage on the other side of the ball with Wilson, AB, and Diggs against a weak secondary and a solid set of pass catching RBs to execute our plan. DingoLadd
Ooh this is close, Singapore comes really close and gets out to a solid lead at halftime but I expect Singapore to fade in the second half. Hawaii should have a field day in the passing game and I fully expect Wilson to get the late TD in the 4th to seal the win, 21-31 Hawaii.

ny92mike
Singapore Sentinels @ Hawaii Nightmarchers The is the second week that I would of voted for Hawaii as I preferred their offensive game plan over the Sentinels defensive plan, but the lineup simply included too many injuries to overlook. Hawaii's game plan was dependant on a heavy pass rush and a rotation to keep them fresh and both starting defensive ends weren't able to play. I was missing DEs but they were missing an OT, the gameplan was still solid.

I agreed with your game plans (Off/Def) and would have had no issue at all with voting for it, but your defensive game plan was built around the blitz in a 43 defense to which both your listed starters were inactive/injured, sorry man I just couldn't overlook it.
