Kiwibrown Posted September 26, 2018 Share Posted September 26, 2018 Working I'm the hospital i received an old lady once who was most likely about to die from long term illness caused by smoking. She was breathing rapid short breath and was looking pretty miserable. She had a small family two daughters and a son who were with her at the final stages of her life. I informed the family about how unwell she was. The oldest daughters reply, "we thought she would of died years ago.." all siblings laugh in a knowing sought of way. Then I check the families details to makes sure we have all their phone numbers etc. I ask the son, Scott for his details, his reply was awesome. 'I'm scott no friends... I'm scott no money... I'm scott no kids..." His sister replies "about to be scott no mum..." I didn't laugh I just left, but it was probably the best dark joke I have ever heard. They all loved their mum and were a tight group. People dying sucks, when I die I hope my family laughs as much as they cry. I think humor is an awesome tool to cope during and around death.
