It would be nice to have a guy who can hit from 55, but I'll settle for someone who makes all his kicks inside 45. That's right the punter has done kickoffs hasn't he? Tough giving up on him after only 2 games but they didn't really have a choice

Qsmoov21
best of luck to carlson. i didn't want it to end this way for the rook, but this aint a rebuilding team, we dont have time to wait until some one can make plays. we need a play maker ASAP. we can get Dan Bailey in between 40-50 yards easily,
byuvike88
Thrilled at this move. I don't think I have ever been more relieved by a kicker move. Although Walsh's was close

It's unfortunate that Marty Schottenheimer is suffering from Alzheimer's, otherwise, he'd probably be a better HC/GM than the Mickey Mouse operation they've been running for nearly 20 years now. This is our window. We have a legitimate claim to being the best team in the NFL and if our kicker is costing us wins, then throw money at the problem until it goes away. Robb_K
Great news! I was worried he was cut not just for the cap room, but also for worry about his injuries. But his making 42 of 47 FG in pre-season allayed my fears. The Vikings are good to go!

SemperFeist
I wonder if the Robbie Gould mistake in 2016 didn’t play a part in the decisiveness of this move.
Ozzy
Maybe but there had to be a reason why Dallas cut him.... Honestly if Bailey was not out there and available doubt this would have happened.

I think Carlson gets cut regardless. His performance was simply unacceptable.
