Let me point out again the amazing long time that the Steelers have been competitive in the NFL.  In the salary cap era, while paying a franchise QB for 10 years, while having to rely almost exclusively on the draft during that time, they have not had a losing record and have gone to the playoffs 7 out of those 10 years.  Look around the NFL and tell me that is normal.  The lack of top level talent available to them in the draft becomes telling.  NE is feeling it.  The NY Giants felt it.  The Chargers felt it.  The Ravens basically fell apart after paying Flacco because of their drafts.

 

That being said, changes need to be considered.  I really think the scouts need to be looking at different types of players.  Stop with the hard hitting ( not tackling) safety.  They need ball hawks but they keep drafting in the same mold ( Marcus Allen).
