Is Bright the best movie Will Smith has acted in, in the last ten years? What was the last Great movie Will Smith was in? I initially replied to another poster about the Men In Black comment and you jumped to my reply of that with some nonsense. So you need to pay attention. It wasn't gonna win him any awards but it was fine. I'm pretty sure he was nominated for a few awards for it, so theres that

They’re complaining it’s almost a shot for shot remake and has no soul. if you’re remaking a cartoon into live action I prefer it to be almost a shot for shot. That’s the whole point.

Why even name it after the source material if you're not gonna use it to craft your story and just make your own original movie? Which is exactly what happened with the World War Z movie (I refuse to call it an adaptation because it wasn't, by definition), oddly enough. The 2013 Carrie remake was damn near shot-for-shot of the original except for a grittier prom scene, which was a product of budgetary/technological limitations at the time and a minor sub plot.
