You can't score a TD from that distance and leave time on the clock for an onside kick and recovery. That was a move made to win the game, not to spark Mason's confidence. When Mason was sent out to kick that last FG we were down 11 points and there was only 2 seconds left in the game.

There were 7 seconds left actually. The FG took it down to 2 seconds. The onside kick takes no time off the clock, since the clock doesn't run unless there's a return. So if we had recovered, we would have had one shot at a second Motor City Miracle. Kicking the FG was definitely the right strategic move.

Everything can could go wrong did.

McCarthy was trying to win the game.

I suppose most people don't realize too much time ran and the clock doesn't run if you recover right away
Leader
Why is there so much chatter about Crosby on the Packers/Bills postgame thread? Did Crosby have a lousy game then too and I missed it?

Mr. Fussnputz
Maybe the Lions game is instructive as to why Rodgers was upset after the Bills win. He knew the offense was not right. Question is, what's not right? Is it the scheme? Are players not being held accountable? What's up? MM needs to fix it, or he's gone. Just my opinion. Who knows what it is. Rodgers and McCarthy are both very smart as far as football is concerned which makes it crazy that they can't figure out whatever is going on. They both also seem pretty stubborn so that's probably playing into it. Just those two aren't the only problem with the offense though the whole team has been sloppy and inconsistent and that falls on McCarthy, though he's not responsible for every individual mistake a player makes it IS his responsibility to have the team prepared and it sure looks like he hasn't done that job too well going on 5 weeks now. It's also MM's job to demand they NOT be sloppy. If he can't get disciplined play out of them, then he's lost the team and it's time for him to go.
