Super Bowl 30, January 28, 1996, Dallas Cowboys vs Pittsburgh Steelers

After many years when basically the AFC champion was roadkill and the NFC Championship Game was the game of the year, this was when things started to shift.

This game and the NE/GB SB a year later that PapaShogun posted- slowly, surely, the AFC was starting to catch up to the NFC.

Not sure if this one has been posted yet but I thought it deserved to be in this thread, and its actually the very last time the Chiefs won a home playoff game.  Its fitting that the QB for the Chiefs was (and still remains) the GOAT, Joe Montana!  Incidentally, the following week Joe Cool pulled off another amazing win in an epic upset against a loaded Oilers team, but to me this game is one of the greatest classics in NFL history:  1993 Playoffs - Pittsburgh Steelers at Kansas City Chiefs.

1987 Week 10 Chicago Bears (7-1) at Denver Broncos (4-3-1)

This was such a good a game on MNF, that most people don't talk about. John Elway, and Jim McMahon had a shootout at Mile High Stadium. Elway in particular had some brilliant plays in the game. He was MVP in 1987 (edging Jerry Rice by a few votes), and this game was a pretty good testament as to why. Both teams had good years even taking into account the replacement games. Broncos of course would go on to the Super Bowl, but get blown out by the Redskins.

1989 Playoffs Buffalo Bills (9-7) at Cleveland Browns (9-5-1)

Here is another lost gem. The Bills took on the Browns in the 1989 Divisional playoffs on a dirt field. The contest turned into a high scoring affair, with big plays made by some notable names: Andre Reed, Eric Metcalf, Webster Slaugher, Clay Matthews, Thurman Thomas, etc. A lot of excitement in this one, especially when watching the entire broadcast.

2010 Week 16 Minnesota Vikings (5-9) at Philadelphia Eagles (10-4)

This was the SNF game that got moved to a Tuesday due to a big snowstorm that was in the Philadelphia area at the time. The Vikings season was already over, after big expectations. How it went down the drain was actually chronicled in this video if you forgot. Their head coach Childress was already fired at this point. Despite all the drama, they showed up in primetime to knock the Eagles down a peg. Philadelphia was 14.5 point favorites here too.

The Rams' most recent playoff win and Seattle's only home playoff loss at Qwest Field

Good game. The Rams had the Seahawks number that year beating them three straight times, even though they weren't that great of a team. Didn't win the division, but went to Seattle and showed who was still king of the mountain in the NFC West. The Seahawks dropping passes was a season-long curse for the offense.

Here are the two games earlier between the Rams and Seahawks that year.

Week 5 St. Louis Rams (2-2) at Seattle Seahawks (3-0)

This was the epic comeback when the Rams looked dead in the water.

Seattle Seahawks (5-3) at St. Louis Rams (4-4)

Seattle in this game killed themselves by not being able to hold on to the ball. Six times inside the 30 yard line, and had four field goals.

This was quite a game, fairly cold, back and forth game and then Joe Cool won it for them after that ST  punt was blocked.
