TecmoSuperJoe 4,474
2000 Week 7 Atlanta Falcons (2-4) at St. Louis Rams (5-0) Sunday Oct 15, 2000 Start Time: 1:02pm Stadium: TWA Dome Attendance: 66,019 Time of Game: 3:23 The struggling Atlanta Falcons take on the surging St. Louis Rams for the second time in three weeks. This was one of Marshall Faulk's best games as he rumbled for over 200 yards. Kurt Warner passed for over 300 yards himself, becoming the first to do so in six straight games. The Rams defense was not performing very well, which would be a theme all seasons long. However, especially at this juncture, it was a moot point due to the potent offense the Rams had. TecmoSuperJoe 4,474
Good spotlight. Bills had a couple of good seasons under Knox from 1980 to 1981. Both times in the playoffs they lost close ones to the Chargers and Bengals. They had a lot of good players, and probably could have gotten to the Super Bowl one of those years if they had a few more breaks go their way.

TecmoSuperJoe 4,474
1984 Week 1 San Francisco 49ers (0-0) at Detroit Lions (0-0) Sunday Sep 2, 1984 Start Time: 1:00pm Stadium: Pontiac Silverdome Dynamite game between the 49ers and Lions to kick off the 1984 season. This was a back and forth contest full of big plays that came down to the final few seconds. The same type of game happened 8 months earlier when the Lions lost a close one in the playoffs against the 49ers at Candlestick in the divisional round. The Lions would once again come up short here. NFL Films selected this game for their Game of the Week segment at the time. The 49ers of course would go on to have arguably their best season in franchise history, going 18-1, and ending up with their second Super Bowl victory. The Lions on the other hand, got off to a terrible 1-5 start, and finished the season 4-11-1. Star running back Billy Sims was injured after the 8th game of the season, and would never play again. Head coach Monte Clark was fired after the year, ushering in the depressing Darryl Rogers era.
TecmoSuperJoe 4,474
2008 Week 5 Minnesota Vikings (1-3) at New Orleans Saints (2-2) Monday Oct 6, 2008 Start Time: 8:40pm Stadium: Louisiana Superdome Attendance: 70,015 Time of Game: 3:26 Despite having "Angels in the Endzone" luck on their side, the Minnesota Vikings almost gave a game away that was handed to them on a silver platter via the Football Gods. On a Monday night, the Vikings waltzed into the Louisiana Superdome in desperate need of a win sitting at 1-3, with the Packers/Bears ahead in the NFC North. The Saints were 2-2, and actually sitting last in a tight NFC South pending the result on the night. New Orelans turned the ball over 4 times, and had blocked field goal returned for a TD. However, thanks to the efforts of Reggie Bush, and the Vikings failing to capitalize, they were never down more than 10 points. Saints roared back in the 4th quarter, but so did the Vikings. Good game overall with a litany of nutty errors that don't drag the action down. Saints would miss the postseason for the second straight year, while the Vikings made a brief cameo with a wild card. Both teams would make the following year in the same arena with a chance to go to the Super Bowl.

7DnBrnc53 172 Posted yesterday at 01:35 AM Share Posted yesterday at 01:35 AM (edited) The time that Emmitt Smith was almost passed over by the Cowboys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2uc40xZ5Go If the Bengals drafted someone else in the first round of the 1990 draft except James Francis, Emmitt Smith plays his storied career someone else (SF, maybe?). TecmoSuperJoe 4,474 Posted yesterday at 03:24 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 03:24 AM Pretty nutty to think that Smith would have languished all those years in Cincinnati. He probably gets them 2 more wins a year, but that franchise still would have been a doormat.

They had Ickey Woods and James Brooks at the time. They probably take another OLB if they pass on Francis, like Lamar Lathon or Renaldo Turnbull.

I saw the video the other day, and for whatever reason got it in my head that the Bengals would have taken Smith.
