Aside from sacks, the Titans had 15 passing attempts and 14 rushing attempts today. With sacks that's 40 offensive plays. Is that right? I didn't get to see the game, but that's an insane number if that's how it actually works out. I think it does, but the results is just too mind-blowing.

I mean yeah, they punted on every possession.

I love the edge being brought back to our offense. Last year it seemed like we had nothing but headcases out there. With Maclin in the clouds and Perriman trying to keep it together. Look at Crabtree, dude had a horrible showing last week and instead of collapsing in on himself...he responded. Then you have Brown and Snead who are at the forefront of our transformation. They actually compete. They give everything they have play in and play out to try and make plays, and more often than not they succeed.

Snead showed his character today. The Titans tried to press him and he wasn't having any of it. He is a tough and reliable option out there, the likes of which we've been sorely missing. I'm excited to see him against his former team next week in one of the bigger games of his career.

Crafty Vet- Derrick Mason/Michael Crabtree  Tough and Reliable- Anquan Boldin/Willie Snead  Deep Threat- Torrey Smith/John Brown  Big Play- Jacoby Jones/Chris Moore

Safety Blanket/Chemistry King- Dennis Pitta/????????  Dual Threat/Backfield Playmaker- Ray Rice/???Alex Collins????   X Factor- Troy Smith/Lamar Jackson

Change of Pace- Bernard Pierce/??????  Return Specialist- Jacoby Jones/?????????  GOAT Kicker- Justin Tucker/Justin Tucker

The Skeleton of an attack that can bring us deep is there, but issues and questions are too.

I have to watch the game again to get a real feel for the overall performance. Had to watch it via Redzone as a network apparently bought the rights to the game, which meant I couldn’t watch it via Gamepass.

From what I saw, the Titans never got going offensively and the early lead forced the Titans to try and throw the ball – that obviously worked in our favor.

The offense did enough to provide a great platform to work from for the defense. Looong drives that 3 times resulted in touchdowns – only 1 turnover (that very well could have been overturned) against a defense that so far has played quite well (although mostly against weaker offenses).

The amount of yards from Flacco and the running game isn’t that pretty, but the key was several +10 yard third down conversions that kept drives alive.

Several of those third down conversions were both great plays by Flacco in connection with especially Snead and Crabbag, but also a Dean Pees defense special. Those long exhausting drives which are results of attempting to prevent the big plays is exactly what we needed to get away from – and while it does have its strengths, this is the type of game where it really didn’t help the Titans offense.

We now have 3 games before the bye, and if we forget about the Browns loss, I don’t believe we can be overall unhappy with the teams performance so far.

Before the season, I would have been happy with a 5-4 record going into the bye week, and that is very much within our grasp with Saints, Panthers and Steelers coming up with Panthers being the best opportunity.

The big issue so far is the lack of productivity in the running game, and we really have to figure that out as well as implementing our downfield passing attack with tight ends.

Looking at our schedule, it is still a pretty tough one, but we have 3 on paper easier home games against the Raiders, Buccanneers and Browns. We just have to make some upset against some very good teams.

I don’t think our road/home mix has been talked about enough. We’re 4-2 right now despite having played 4 road games already and only 2 home games.   Browns have had 4 home games while Steelers and Bengals have each had 3. This sets us up quite nicely IMO.

Judon still got his 60%.

Tim Williams' snap share goes up to 50%

Z Smith goes down to 48%

Kenny Young still not getting enough play time.

Anthony Levine saw 12(!!!) defensive snaps.

Hayden Hurst saw 18/75 offensive snaps (not good), Mark Andrews saw 20 snaps but still caught like 5 passes.

Buck Allen trending way down, Collins trending way up, along with Gus Edwards.

Moseley has the green dot, so he's going to be on the field pretty much every play.

Late in the game we likely went to the dime a fair amount, which would result in a positive for Levine snaps and a negative for Young snaps.

I have no issue phasing Hurst in over time.

Mosley doesn't have the green dot, Weddle does. Unless that changed since last week's game.

agreed, but Onwuasor came to play this time around

Hayden Hurst saw 18/75 offensive snaps (not good), Mark Andrews saw 20 snaps but still caught like 5 passes.

it's obvious they are slowly phasing Hurst in the rotation which is ok to me when all 4 TEs are contributing. what is more telling to me is the nearly 70% of snaps for Boyle, emphasises just how much help they need to give the Blockers imo which was already pointed out by others several times.

also according to nfl.com:

Quote

According to Next Gen Stats, the Ravens had 10 sacks on blitzes in Week 6, more sacks than any other team has on blitzes all season

i guess if you do it, do it right.
