Why on earth would they re-sign Kevin White, but let Bobby Massie go? You know Massie's a starter, right? O.o

Because Massie is expendable.  If there's any weak link on the o-line it's him.  I'd also like to think that Rashaad Coward has a future at RT for this team.

Because Massie would make like triple what White would.

But...that doesn't really answer my question...

He's expendable if Coward can work out, for sure. Otherwise, I think you pretty much have to find a way to keep Massie. There simply won't be enough picks to assume they can safely plug holes.

Well it does...you can't keep every big money guy and Massie is making way too much money.

When your choices are limited, though, that kind of restricts what you can do. They pay him no, they most likely can keep paying him, and it won't be easy for them to find another starter they can pay less.

You can find a starting RT for less than $6 million a year.

Based on the previous 2 years of free agency you would be hard pressed to find an upgrade, or even a really solid starter, at RT with a sub 6 million budget.

If the plan is to move on from Massie, which I agree with, he needs to be replaced by Coward and a draft pick to make the savings worthwhile.

I think finding a 3rd round OT has to be the plan...a low rent vet would also not be a bad thing...Fisher would be exactly that.

Agreed, Coward and a 3rd round pick would combine for about 1.1 million, which would be a savings of about 5 million.

That makes moving on from Massie worthwhile.
