DigInBoys
They've beaten Baltimore, Atlanta, and Miami. Lost a nail biter to Pittsburgh. Also lost to Carolina, but they aren't exactly the 49ers. Are they a legitimate contender in the AFC? Incidentally they have the Chiefs next week on SNF, so we'll really see what they're made of. Soko
Because we’ve seen this song and dance before. We want to see them win in the playoffs.
ChazStandard
If you want to know why they’re not talked about - watch today’s game. They’re talented at a lot of positions, especially on offense, but they can’t get out of their own way psychologically. Today they just needed to keep calm, run some clock and win the game. They panicked, they scored too quick and blew their chance. Look at that Pittsburgh play-off game a couple of years ago. The Bengals are a top 5 AFC team in talent, but have shown that they can’t be relied upon to keep their heads when it matters most, until they prove otherwise people will just automatically file them away as “That decent team that will go 11-5 but lose to a contender in the play-offs”. wackywabbit
They are a good team. Look like a strong playoff contenders. IDC about that playoff win talk; no team is winning playoff games in October. All that matters now is positioning for the playoffs and they are positioning pretty well to this point. They are about or close to as strong as any team in the AFC. But that SNF matchup you mentioned was flexed in to. Meaning that it's not true that no one recognizes their ability/performance so far. AFlaccoSeagulls
They're the Bengals. They're not a threat, even with having beaten us on a short week at home on TNF.
Jimmy Austin
Because that's what ESPN wants. People only talk about the teams ESPN wants them to talk about.
BleedTheClock
Because they really aren't that good IMO. I think they crash back down to earth and end up somewhere outside of the playoff race when it's all said and done.
