Horrible self scout and horrible opponent scout. 1) GB was already proven awful at run defense 2) SF's best players were their RBs, specifically Breida and Jusclsidjfosk, TEs, specifically Kittle, and Goodwin. Putting out multiple WRs against our D was going to be diminishing returns 3) Shanahan ALWAYS has creative plays out of 3 TE sets and 2 TE/ 2RB sets. His Atlanta teams ran more 3TE than any team in modern ball. 4) The plan was to blitz the bejesus out of Beathard with extra DBs leaving our worst coverage players against their best pass receivers... hmmkay.
