ultimately i'm not terribly upset about this loss. we ran the ball well and had sustained drives on offense, which are things we'd been struggling with all season long. the offense actually appeared to have some rhythm. it's all about whether we can build on stuff like that or not. we start being able to do that but limit the killer mistakes, and mariota gels with this system a little bit more, and it's entirely within the realm of possibility that we hit our stride down the stretch and win the division. but i'm certainly not ready to predict that we'll do that at this point.

Yeah it's not the worst loss in the world. Really sucks we didn't get the win though.

I like that the offense showed signs of life, and as I said earlier, going in to the bye/Dallas game is when I'll start truly judging the offense. I posted it in our Mariota thread, but Orlovsky noted it's still going to take time for this offense. An extra two weeks to adjust right now is nice. Back half of our schedule isn't too bad.

New England is the only team I'd pencil in a loss to(not saying we're going undefeated, just saying we should be able to have a chance to win every other game) because I'll never pick against Brady/Belichick.

Finally got to watch the 2 point conversion attempt now that drill is over with... not having a RB in the backfield made no sense, Mariota probably could have scrambled a little bit to open up something or score, the route concept was terrible, and seemed like the Chargers were expecting a run up the middle.. my question is: we have a 6’4 WR named Corey Davis why do we never try to throw him fade routes? We threw 2 fade routes last year in the playoffs against Butler and he scored both times. So why not go to it again

Right.

I said I wanted to see more targets for him. He has proven to be reliable. He rarely drops the ball.

Need more from Davis and need to add another WR somehow.

KT, both you and Redd gotta get it together. I've been telling everyone how great Sharpe could be if we just trusted him. Glad MM finally heard me...

Because there's no reason on a forum for intellectual discussion that you have to deal with people constantly trolling. I do ignore kookie, and I can ignore pwny. But why have rules in place if you're not going to even bother enforcing them? Why should the rest of us follow any rules?

That guys a freaking joke for real. Most any other poster, whatever... But the fact that he's a mod is kinda a mockery to the forum. Mods should spur good communication... And he does the opposite... Freaking sour grapes... I'mjust ignoring now, but it's true again, he makes that mod label a joke...

Even with our success today. I don't trust our run game.

But a RPO would have been a better call.

Or just a sneak where he jumps over the top.

You'd think Henry with a Tomlinson type leap would work better.

In my simplistic mind I run a fake run left, bootleg right with a TE/WR dragging across the field from left to right. Let Mariota make the call, he keeps it or throws it to the crosser...

Finished watching highlights of the second half. Both of those 2pt conversation plays were terrible.

Watching the highlights. I walked away more optimistic about the team. I did also hate those play calls. Low chance of success both times.

I think the offense as a whole find it's legs more. Knowing how to use Lewis. Henry running better and more passes to get the ball out of Marcus hands faster.

Taylor is a slower Ted Guinn early in his career. Can't be depended on to be anything more than a specialist.

Orakpo is done.

Hopefully we get Kenny V back after the bye. We have missed his defense in the back end.

Lafluer has to do better with those Red zone calls. If need just go back to Robiskies playbook. He at least got us in the end zone when we managed to get there.

Yeah, he's useful around the line of scrimmage and that's about it. He could also be a half way decent deep threat if he could track the ball in the air. He runs decent routes, but he's just got a lot of concentration issues.

I’m stunned by how competent Sharpe has been. I was so down on him. Not that I’m comfortable with him as the second best receiver on the team, but I really should’ve listened to @ragevsuall17.

Hahaha, I'm glad everyone's on board now!!! Took y'all long 'nuff!!

Kidding aside, that was really a great game by him. Best of his career if I'm not mistaken. Hopefully he continues flourishing in his role... But I still think we need another option. Cooper or DT would be nice, but I'm looking at a little  lower tiered guy... Parker (Sanu if the Falcons start selling, same for Garcon, or any of the other options of teams that may sell).

If Tate were to become available, he's probably my favorite... But he's also a guy who's contact is expiring after this season, so that runs the bigger risk of a couple month rental... So trade cost becomes more critical.

But Sharpe has passed Taylor in my eyes... Pretty definitively. I was as down on Taylor last year at I had been with Sharpe, but I liked Taylor's skill set better, so I was willing to overlook the lack of consistency a lil more ... But man oh man...

Just think how sharpe would thrive as a #3 receiver & a Healthy Delanie ??‍♂️ He can easily put up Matthews numbers. As for Taywan the things I see wit him, he doesn’t get off press coverage well, he’s a okay route runner but doesn’t understand leverage, or how to stack DB when they’re  on his hip pocket, he struggles tracking the ball, & his hands are suspect. My opinion he has a Derek Mason skill set but every Sunday I feel that he’s Daimian Williams version 2

Yeap and to be honest, I don't know if Davis is ready to be the man yet. So a good Vet that can be the primary target with Davis being an 1A and then Walker and Sharpe. That is an 100% more dependable offense.
