Anyone with a take on Derick Roberson, OLB, Sam Houston State?  I have been trying to find some game tape on him and not having much luck.

Not sure about OLB ,he still can be a base end. 4* Texas transfer, excelled at the FCS level and led the country in sacks. He is an ideal type of guy you stash and develop

My edge rusher big board goes

1. J. Allen

2. N. Bosa

3. C. Ferrell

4. M. Sweat

5. J. Ferguson

6. J. Polite

7. Z. Allen

8. B. Burns

9. C. Granderson

10. A. Bryant

11. O. Ximines

12. D. Walker

13. J. Jelks

14. C. Winovich

15. J. Jackson

I can't imagine why on Earth Josh Allen isn't getting more love. He has the highest ceiling in the class. Bosa is great, but Allen has kept improving and is crazy athletic. With Bosa... He has a small sample size, always had talent around him, and quit out on Ohio State after getting hurt. Allen, meanwhile, has carried his team. I'm not saying Nick Bosa isn't great. He's a blue-chip prospect with great bloodlines. Allen, though, is better and more productive in all aspects of his game, and likely would have been even more productive if he were playing in another program with more talent around him. He's also the best 3-4 OLB I've ever seen, where Bosa seems more 4-3 than 3-4 to me. Bosa is still crazy good, but Josh Allen is in a whole other realm.

I have been saying all of this in the niners forum. Give me Allen over bosa. There is more risk but more upside as well. What he needs to improve on are things that can be coached. Hes such a well rounded player already. The fact he can drop into coverage makes him scheme versitle

Bosa is probably as good as he will ever be, which scares me (as strange as that sounds). The fact he was a rotational player that probably wasn't a huge part of the offenses gameplan also worries me.

I don't know about 'other realm'. All I know is that the niners are going to get one of these guys, which is a great feeling, but it's also sad knowing the Cardinals probably will too lol

Whole other realm as a 3-4 LB due to versatility. And he's VERY GOOD at all the things he can do, versus like a John Simon, who's just decent or good at his skills.

Thoughts on Jaylon Ferguson?

A pure 4-3 DE due to being challenged in lateral movement. I think he would not play the 9-tech in a 4-3 but would make a very good 5-tech.     He is a great technician for a pass rusher.  Vast variety of pass moves and great hands.  Reminds me of a young LaMar Woodley but with less explosiveness.

I've never seen a Woodley comp for him. I kind of like that.

The guy gives awesome effort attacking the QB and for a straight up the field pass rusher he does a very good job at DE.  Had a great season but he has been good and productive over his entire career.  Sure has not played the best competition consistently but even this year against Miss State who has multiple NFL prospects on their OL he played great.  Kid seems to love the game and in a day and age where no high pick plays in a small bowl game, he did because he loves to play and was going after the NCAA sack record which he did get in that game.  I feel he is a damn good athlete and on the tape going after the QB he is as athletic as any DE in the draft, sure maybe he might not test like that but on film he is explosive, powerful and quick off the ball.  He wins on speed and getting around the tackle which he does quite often.

The Colts could use him, same with the Raiders, Patriots, Eagles, Seahawks etc in the 1st round.

Wow. You're saying Ferguson will go in the 1st?! Really? I don't see it, but I am not going to argue since it only takes one team...just like Tebow and Manziel.

Well, bad comparison as Ferguson likely has more talent. Perhaps a similar situation is all.

Not going to lie, watching Polite,  He has a lot of Von Miller in his game

Crazy explosion off the ball. He's got a powerful punch, but I have a feeling NFL OT's won't let him get into their chest because of his lack of length. He's still going to roast dudes with speed, but will probably be more of a specialist at the start of his career. I do like him a lot and wouldn't be shocked if he were drafted within the first 15 picks.

Ferguson is awesome at power rushing and setting the edge. He's inconsistent, but the talent is there as is the upside. He's not slippery as a rusher, but he will win with raw power. He has been overwhelming at times during his career and has taken over some games. I don't have him in the top tier of pass rushers, but there is a significant edge rush drop-off after the 1st round. I could see a team taking him in the late 1st. He's probably more of a top 5 pick in the 2nd round, but he could easily come off the board sooner.

A year to get some strength and he could be a real beast.  Plays 18" off the ground on his pass rush.  Best bend in the class.
