I don't get the positional value argument against Lawrence.

If your team doesn't have a stud DT, Lawrence is a great pick. Sleeper top 10 pick if any of those teams have a need at DT.

He's not just a run stuffing big with no pass-rush value. He's an elite athlete for his size. 13th best RAS in this draft class - 6th best defender (Rashan Gary, Jamel Dean, Burns, Sweat, Quinton Bell).

The problem is always gonna be a positional/snap count sort of thing though.  Even the best sort of athletic NTs who actually give you something in the pass rush/pocket pushing department like a Marcell Dareus (as a top-5 pick even), ultimately seem to settle into roles as a sort of ~50% snaps type role.  Fatigue becomes a real issue with men this big and the double teams they're constantly asked to eat up.  Especially as they get a bit older.  And just in terms of pure sub-package utility...it tends to be one of the first spots you pull a guy to get a more specialized pass rusher or coverage operator on the field.

Even the best NTs who do offer some pocket push like Lawrence, just aren't on the field as much as other positions/roles.
