And now we know that he's the "winningest" coach under Snyder. Oh, but it gets better. Should Gruden be on the sidelines as head coach in the Meadowlands on October 28th, he'll overtake Bill McPeak as the 5th longest tenured coach in franchise history. Should he be on the sidelines as head coach in Nashville on December 23rd, he'll overtake Ray Flaherty (a Hall of Fame coach) for 4th longest tenured coach. At that point, only Joe Gibbs (248 games), Norv Turner (109 games), and George Allen (98 games) will have longer tenures in Washington. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Washington_Redskins_head_coaches The good news is that you know Brucie will absolutely fire him no later than the end of next season in order to protect Dad's standing. It took Shanahn, Bruce & our former GM too - if we’re going to be honest - 9 drafts to finally draft a NT worth starting, and surprisingly he actually drafted two this past draft. That being said, we all know that we should’ve drafted a NT in the 2010, 2011 or 2012 draft who had starting ability. Once they signed Cofield in 2011, both Shanahan and Allen seemed to get content at the NT positon which was a mistake. I think in most fans and football talent evaluators opinions, Cofield was better served as a 3-4 DE rather than a 2-gaping NT. So, that was just a major mistake that isn’t always talked about beyond the other mistakes we constantly talk about. The truth remains, if one is going to be gone after this season, both should be gone, but I still doubt it happens. Unlike in years past - except for the Gibbs years - Dan actually likes Bruce and Jay.
