I'm sure you guys have all seen the reports that PP requested a trade before the deadline and according to his cousin, he wants to be traded to the Saints. I'm very curious to hear your opinions on it as Cardinals fans.

1) Do you guys want to trade him? Or do you think its better to hold on to him?

2) What's your team's starting asking price in your opinion?

3) What are you positions of weakness?

Obviously the Saints don't have a 1st or 3rd this year, so that makes our options limited for a trade. Do we put together a package of a 2nd and a young player? Add in a 4th? Do we dangle a 2020 1st rounder with the idea that Brees will be retired and it might be a high pick? We have some untouchable players in Michael Thomas, Kamara, and Lattimore, but who else interests you?

1) No, I don't think we trade him this year. He's under contract through 2020 so he has no leverage when he requests that trade. I think if he was to get moved it would be in the offseason

2) Darrelle Revis was traded in 2013 for a 1st rounder and a conditional 4th that turned into a 3rd. You'd be looking at that.

3.) Receiver, OLine, CB, ILB

The Saints don't have the capital available (IE we would be asking for your untouchables) to trade for him

What about a 2nd, 4th next year and a player like Andrus Peat. Peat was a 1st rounder who has started the majority of games for us since that draft at RT and then LT whenever Armstead is injured (basically every other game)

Peat doesn't carry enough value to accept this trade

Peat is also due nearly 10M next season and then will require a long term extension. We are also talking about a pick at the very back end of the 2nd round.

The one guy who may have carried enough weight to carry any trade in this situation would've been Ryan Ramczyk, a guy who still has two cheap years left, has surpassed Peat as a tackle and would probably hold better value longer term.

Bottom line is the team was never going to trade him in-season. They will re-visit this in the offseason and sell to the highest bidder.

What about the rumors that you asked for Terron Armstead? Any whispers on your end if that were true or not?

Believe everyone and their mother who hears any whispers from our front office has heard that he will not be traded. Haven't heard anything, but Armstead would make a lot of sense to ask for.
