ManeLine
Snacks, D'Shawn Hand, and A'Shawn Robinson is a strong trio of interior defenders. Lions have actually been piling up some sacks, but they lack that true, elite edge threat. That's where they need Ziggy, but the guy just can't get on the field. Lions season has been weird. They lost to 3 losing teams, but beat 3 teams with winning records with the Lions having a stronghold on all 3 of those games. Lions are usually the opposite where they feast on the poor and get beaten up by the rich.

I think they are a lot closer to finding it than they have been but they’re looking.

Cooper for a 1st is still pretty bad, though, I still can't believe it happened.
MortexLion
As a Lions Fan..All I can hope is this guy will bring in a mentality to not be the worst run defense in the league Period! Then and only then will the lions pull there head out from there own ***'s and win against teams like the Vikings, Rams, Carolina and ect.. Gmen
Giants are officially in rebuilding mode. Don’t understand why you trade the best run stuffer in the league for a 5th round pick, but whatever. The giants need to blow it up, draft Herbert and rebuild around him and Barkley. Do DT's have a 30 year old wall like RBs that I don't know of? Is Calias Campbell not great at 32? Do the Bengals need to trade Geno Atkins now because he's 30? Smaller players hit their wall earlier on because speed starts to decline at around 25-27 years old. Offensive and defensive lineman can stay at their peak performance for longer because you can continue to get stronger into your mid-late 30's. OL/DL tend to retire because they wear down, not because they can't cut it anymore.
IDOG_det
This is a pretty huge move for the Lions. As others have stated, the run defense has been piss poor so far. Snacks will immediately help turn that around. This also will open things up a little for A'Shawn Robinson. He was struggling early on in the season while playing the nose tackle role but he has played better as of late when he's been playing more 3T/5T. Snacks and Sly Williams will rotate at NT, A'Shawn Robinson and Da'shawn Hand will rotate at 3T/5T, and Ricky Jean-Francois will be sprinkled in at both spots. Da'shawn Hand, A'Shawn Robinson, and Ricky Jean-Francois generated a lot of pressure last week against the Dolphins, if Snacks can free things up for them a little more he will help improve the pass rush, even if he isn't generating the pass rush himself. The Lions run a great defense for him to play in as well. He won't be asked to rush the passer a ton. Instead, he'll be asked to hold the top of the pocket and close it in on the QB and be ready if the QB runs. EDGE rushers, the 3T/5T spot, and blitzing LBs are the pass rushers in this defense. diehardlionfan
The Lions haven’t been able to stop the run since Ngata got hurt. When he left they didn’t adequately replace him. This move fills the biggest hole on the Lions defence. With Ansah returning soon (hopefully for more than two snaps) the D is set to get significantly better.
