As always: "it depends on the price."

For as much as Peterson has done for the Redskins, the Redskins have done a lot for Peterson as well. By giving him a shot, they've allowed him to rehab his value to the point that he could be sought after by multiple teams in free agency. Now, it isn't going to be a top dollar contract, but I don't think the Redskins will be able to give him a vet min or vet min sweetener deal. Do they want to give him a multi year deal (*)? A substantial roster bonus?

If the money is reasonable, sure, bring him back. Just don't get into a bidding war for him.

 

Heck, if there are demands for his services, letting him walk and turn into a compensatory pick might be the better long term play.

 

 

(*) Realistically, if he did get a multi year deal, it would be a one year deal with a year or two on the back end for accounting purposes only.
