Sounds like the Jack experiment isn't going as well as they hoped, but luckily we have a guy like Poz who doesn't mind being flexible. Gosh I love that guy. Just so consistent and such a team player.

Dont quite a few teams use a hurry up at times?

i feel like if they see Poz in there they will try and exploit him

Absolutely. We'll have to be prepared for these teams and make sure the switches are immediate or possibly waste a timeout or get some 12 man on the field calls. I hope they try to practice this situation to see how quickly they can SUB out in these situations. We should be fine. We don't play against the Packers and the master of getting that penalty called AKA A-ROD.

This whole LBer shuffling thing just seems so dumb.  Seems like we've basically got a rising star at WLB, a downhill thumper MLB only guy, and another fast young WLB who we really don't know if they're good or not because they've barely seen the field.  And they can't decide on how to put it all together because it frankly doesn't seem to go together very coherently.

Doesn't seem like they really addressed the SAM spot this offseason, which seems foolish as it was clearly an area that could use some improvement after last year.  They ditched the whole "OTTO" experiment which is all well and good, but there wasn't really a quality traditional SAM on the roster either.

Kinda wish we could swap Jack for either a clear cut MLB of similar calibre and upside where they wouldn't have to be so seemingly wishy-washy and hesitant on whether he belongs there, or a quality SAM...though that would kinda suck being as they won't be on the field nearly as much as the other two backers.  But Jack still just seems redundant to me with Telvin filling the same sort of niche, but better and a lot more proven.

It's annoying.

The whole round peg in a square hole thing going on here. Trying to put Poz at a position that he's never played in stack LBer, but he has the ability to play it, but let's see if his body will hold. Trying to throw Jack in at Mike because he's fast and athletic, but can he line up the defense, use his instincts to find the ball, and make the open field tackles? Preseason game 1 showed he struggles at doing those things, which has led us to this "musical chairs" we'll be having in the Line-backing core. Telvin is golden. Put him at WLB and GTFO of the way. Poz is getting slower and struggles in coverage and that's Jack's specialty so we need him in there for sub packages. Considering that most teams play majority of their snaps in the Nickel, I think Jack should see the field more than Poz, but this is what the preseason is for, to see what works best. Give Jack time to learn the position. He seems like a coach-able guy and it'll just take time and effort.

I'd like to see Fowler get a shot at SAM after this year goes by and the organization realizes that he isn't developing any pass rushing moves and he has great athleticism, but you can't teach him to rush. See how he does as a stack LBer.

The whole thing just seems way more convoluted than you'd like it to be.  It's all murky and jumbled together.  The preseason is for finding out who can do what, to an extent...but this isn't just depth tinkering.  It's trying to figure out how to piece our 3 starting LBers together in a way that works and makes sense.  Ideally, that stuff should be pretty clear if guys are natural fits at the spots you're trying to put them in.  It's not clear.

As for Fowler at SAM...i do like the idea of that, letting him get his run up at things like in college.  The problem/questionmark being...how much else of the position is he going to be able to do at a solid NFL level?  Or is he just going to be a guy you put out there with a giant sign saying, "I Am Blitzing"?
