Grab a couple 'I used to be a 3x pro bowler 5 years ago' type of guys off the camp cut scrap heap for pennies. Its like thrift store shopping. You can get some huge steals. For instance....Joe Haden is a prime candidate for being a cap casualty. Thaaaaat would be interesting. Yeah Haden is probably off the table but I would rather scoop him up for a 5-6m per year contract as a CB3/4 over paying TJ Carrie 9m and 8m next year. Yeah Carrie will make around $8m. (Also Carrie played pretty well as a starter last year for the last had of the season. ) Carries contract is pretty much done after this year. Next year it turns into a $1.6m cap hit, where this year its $10m hit. Basically Carrie is going to be a 2yr $16m contract player for us. Hubbards contract is also like that. It turns into a $2.4m cap hit after this season. Kirksey’s contract turns into a $2.4m cap hit too. On paper the browns have some big contracts that don’t seem worth it like Hubbard, Carrie, Kirksey, and Landry but after this season they turn into easily cuttable deals because of their dead cap hits.
