Roninho
What defensive positions do we need to sign starters so that we could truly go bpa in the draft? So that before the draft we have at least an ok starter at each position. assuming we re-sign guys like Hankins and Worley. i cannot remember the last time we had ok starters at all 3 LBer spots during the season, so having 11 spots filled in before the draft would be substantial imo. Golden would be a pass rush specialist for us IMO. A guy who would sub in on obvious passing situations and in nickel/dime packages. We could use a bigger base DE like Frostee last year and Golden as a rusher. This looks like a solid option to me.

I wouldn't be that mad if we traded down and around 6 and took him there. He’ll go top 15. Top 10 depending on how he performs at the combine. roi34
Id rather get a top end RB than TE. Rb makes a bigger difference to me. Also there is value at TE in this draft in 3-4th round.
roi34
I want a real MLB. I'm ok with whitehead and lee at olb with one other LB who can cover a bit. I thought Lee played way better once moved to OLB. Our Dline didnt do a great job of eatting up blockers for lbs last year

Defense for sure needs new starters at: SLB MLB DE x2 SS CB

Maybe a player that could be a backup at Mike also. MLB White (can play any LBer position), Bush (May be better at WLB), or Wilson(Might not make the impact we want early on). All should be able to play the position at a desired level. Just get 1 or 2. DE x2 Draft 2-3 and Sign 2-3. We only have one on the roster right now. This is priority number 1. SS Is Joseph playing FS or SS in Guenther's D? I think we need a FS. CB Worley and Conley should be good and we can focus in other places. We also have Nelson who should improve. agarcia34
Would question Gruden if he doesn’t bring back Cook. He’s gonna be 32 so you know you don’t have to make it a long term contract. He was excellent in Grudens system. Honestly first time in his career where he was used properly. Would really like to bring him back on a two year deal and draft a TE to groom under him. Gruden's system is TE friendly and there are several in the draft who would excel in the role cheaper and younger.

Nelson too green, I wouldn’t spend much but I would sign a vet or two., we had bunch of 38 year olds for depth last year

Guenther likes interchangeable safeties and also likes to have good depth at CB. Joseph can play either FS/SS but no doubt we need another S capable of playing either position. I think we will look to get a CB early.

I think we could get away with signing a #3 CB and drafting another developmental CB. #1 Conley, #2 Worley, #3 FA (Jackson, Nelson, Dennard), #4 Nelson, and #5 4-7th rounder If we draft a CB in the 2nd or 3rd I would take a chance on Verrett. If he gets injured again we would have enough depth to take the blow. If healthy he would be our #1 or #2 CB.
MrOaktown_56
I want a good safety and Barr in FA. We need off the ball LB's and there are so many safeties we could pair with Harris/Joseph. If we could walk out of FA with Preston Smith, Barr, and Amos, I'd be very happy. Wishful thinking but possible.

Wishful thinking but possible. Barr would be an edge in Guenther's defense. He bothers me, because Zimmer couldn't really elevate his game. Buyer beware IMO on Barr. But I see the intrigue of getting him back exclusively as an edge and letting him play as he did in college. Smith is an over played name on this forum, but I don't see the fit. He's a 3-4 OLB. In a 4-3, he'd get swallowed up playing edge IMO. Amos would be a good fit. Z. Smith is the best fit and better value.
