Signing Bell could be a trap like signing one of Tom Brady's backups.  They might not be bad but that system makes them better.

Exactly my point.  Why take the risk on a back with a ton of miles, character flaws who is going to command 15 a year and would be on a team that will be a bottom dweller once again.  Once we continue to suck next year and he would start to struggle you know he'll flat out give up.  Let someone else take on the tremendous risk and make that mistake.

I would much rather go with Coleman in FA if we go that route.  Coleman has less miles, will cost a third of what Bell gets, and averages more yards per touch than Bell (Bell 5.19/touch and Coleman 5.37/touch).  That includes receiving where 20% of Bell's touches are receptions and Coleman is at 15%.   With the money we save we could also sign a G and RT.

Agreed! I like coleman. Traded Jordan Howard for him in fantasy haha.

You get a young rb but also vet. Hasn't been overused can catch and run between tackles. Known commodity. Cheaper than most. Done and done.

Defensive is where we can get good quick

Edge-

  • Demarcus Lawrence - all pro end in his prime
  • Dante Fowler - solid pass rushing option
  • Jadevon Clowney- all pro entering his prime
  • Clay Matthews- getting older but still good at getting to qb
  • Derrick Morgan- see above
  • Brian Orakpo- see above
  • Dee Ford - can Chiefs afford Houston and Ford

DE:

  • Carlos Dunlap - knows the system, 7 sacks on the year so far.... Good against the run, and getting to the QB.. turn 30 should be good another 3-4 years
  • Robert Quinn- has had a good career
  • Trey Flowers- patriots have a history of being cheap, Flowers is a stud against run and pass
  • Brandon Graham- getting older, but still pressures the QB
  • Frank Clark- developed into a force entering his prime
  • Zeke Ansah- injury prone but talented all around player

DT:

  • Hankins - starting to play good football for us
  • M Wilkerson- coming off major injury, depth now
  • Sheldon Richardson- having a good year in his prime

LB:

  • KJ Wright- hall of famer entering the market, all around stud backer
  • Anthony Barr- all pro all around linebacker. Plays fast
  • Manti Teo- been a solid playerfor a few years now
  • CJ Mosely- a stud MLB, been lights out for one of the best defense in the league
  • Denzel Perryman- been a solid starter for Chargers, coming off season ending injury
  • Vince Williams-filling in for Ryan Shazier nicely

S:

  • Lemarcus Joyner - stud in his prime, might have to leave Rams due to money
  • Earl Thomas - hall of famer coming off major injury and over 30... risky but he was ballin before injury
  • Honey Badger- stud in his prime, can do everything
  • Landon Collins- see above
  • Jimmie Ward- seems he needs a change of scenery
  • Jaquiski Tartt- would be an upgrade
  • HAHA - traded to Redskins, always thought highly of him

CB:

  • Ronald Darby would be the cream of the crop
  • Kareem Jackson- long time starter
  • Darqueze Dennard- knows the system, been a solid starter for awhile
  • Bradley Roby- entering his prime
  • Jason Verrett- good when healthy, but injury prone

I'm probably missing a few guys, and there will be cuts....
