David Shaw a great offensive mind? What the jack is this crap? If we hire him Baker will never work out.

Yeah I’ve never understood the love for Shaw. He’s terrible at game management and far too conservative in play calling.

I don't get it. You're just saying Hawk doesn't like him?

yes.  and was questioning his potential as a hc, as a person who was in his locker room.

To be fair Hawkins loves hue. Not sure if he knows what a head coach should be.

tony Pauline believes the #1 candidate is toub

i don’t know how I feel about a ST guy being a HC but he’s well respected and Dorsey’s boy.

I love the idea of a ST guy being a head coach.

They are being promoted because they work well with players, understand rules, and not necessarily because they can call plays on offense and defense.

Toub actually has my vote more because hes a ST coach, if he can bring in young smart coordinators that we are in good shape.

(look at John Harbaugh for recent success)

Just because a coach is a great OC/DC/STC  Does not make them a great head coaching candidate...

Everyone always starts to name the new young hot coordinators, but being the CEO/HC is a different skill set.

Joe Thomas spoke quite eloquently about this on his podcast.

The best of both worlds is a top CEO type that has prowess as a Coordinator.

John DeFillipo is not an elite CEO type based on how he has interviewed for HC positions (this information gets around in league circles).

DeFillipo stumbles over his words and didn't have magnetism in his HC interview with a few teams.

Either is Jim Schwartz from what I've heard...

Albert Breer said a name that keeps coming up is Matt Campbell. He was saying during his interview with a bull and fox was that when Scouts/teams visit his facility to see the players that they really respect the way he runs the programs and how he treats. That when NFL people had gone through Iowa st they leave very impressed with Campbell and that they believe he has the potential to be a NFL coach

I do too. I just think it may be too early.

Why tho? Can’t see any reason he would leave a stacked rams team to come here.
