They turned down offers for 2nd rounders. So our options were to up the offer, or try to play hard ball and risk losing him.

They made a decision to get the deal done. And it’s literally saved our season and given us a #1 WR for the future.

Honestly, I kind of wonder if you are just pissed that he’s helping us win games that you didn’t want to win.

2nd rounders. Theres is no reason to think they would not have have taken multiple picks.

2nd and a 5th would have been more then enough for him. Considering how much he was under performing and the fact that he was even on the trade block to begin means we could have gotten him for less.

The Raiders were hardlined against 2nd rounders, but throwing in the 5th for sure would have made the difference?

Hahahahaha!

Goodnight! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Who is everyone?

Are any of these people actually qualified GM/Front office people?

Including the teams who didn't offer a first for Cooper. It was stated we were the only team that offered a first. That should tell you every other GM and HC thought that price was too high. So yea qualified "actual" GM's thought it was too much.

Yep a 1st was a brilliant deal. No need to talk them down on the offer.

In case some of you missed it, there were numerous reports that we (yet again) negotiated against ourselves because no team offered the Raiders more than a second round pick. Not a second round pick plus additional stuff. No. The highest other offers were for a second round pick, straight up. Us? <slobbering> “Here, take our first!!”

We should’ve tried a second round pick and a later pick in 2020 to see if that would’ve sufficed.

I would love to see the evidence that we did not attempt to do exactly that? Do you have any proof whatsoever?

This was the first report. I just posted a link where it suggests another team (tenn) offered up a 1st as well.

Ultimately, yes, we didn't get him at the bagin bin. But I'm most pleased with the result.
